Hmm I had no problems registering with Skyback - what they do is check that your email is genuine before you actually join. They send out the confirmation email and after you follow the link in that the registration process continues.

Some temporary (throwaway) email sites aren't accepted. Guerrilla mail is one.

This is a thread in the DAZ3D forum, and the opening post specifically states "If you know of a site where daz/poser content is shared post below"

I'll leave your post here as it appears people have properly ignored it, but read more before you post again lest you be taken for a spammer.

Not sure why hotmail wouldn't be accepted, but I can try another email. Will I get spam from this? I really didn't want to use my regular email, especially if it's for this, but I don't know what other mail site it would work with. What does everyone here usually use. Not sure comcast is a very good option lol.

ETA: Got it to work with mail.com, but the site is pretty much unusable. I got one part of a bundle file, which took almost an hour to download. I can live with that, but when I went for a second, the timer is high and stops counting down.

Is something like zonegfx safer than torrents? I'm not sure if people just upload what they've downloaded or if things have been scanned, etc. it seems like there would be less chance of getting a virus?

You're more likely to get infected going to the various file hosting sites (with their malicious scripting and less scrupulous advertising) than from any content you find, no matter where you get it. Nothing comes in executable format anymore, other than older material (which should be scanned regardless, and run in a sandbox, just in case). The torrent protocol hasn't been taken over by malware, so it won't infect you directly, just what you open once you get it. Some archive formats (*ahem* rar *ahem*) are known to be used to distribute malicious content, but the original zips are pretty hard to beat. Sure, someone might have tampered with the contents (*ahem* Phuongdzhu *ahem*), but it can't do anything if you delete the offending parts first.

I assume I would knowt this by the virus scan finding something, but how would you take out parts of it? I'm not sure what you mean by sandbox exactly either, sorry. I just scan them and put them on a jump drive which my other computer scans again when you put the stick in.

If an executable has a virus in it, there is usually little you can do to get it out. Sometimes it can be removed, saving the original, but probably better to just forget it. Any added files, like links, info, etc., are annoying but usually harmless themselves and can simply be deleted from the archive. A sandbox is an isolated area on the computer (i.e., SandboxIE) that can be used to contain any junk that does get past your scanner. You can run things as usual (browsers, apps, etc.), and export what you want to keep. If something bad happens, it won't get into your main system. You can let it run, and keep the good parts, or just abort and flush it all away.

I noticed that too. I hope it's just a domain issue or something. I really like that site. Actually found myself legit buying more content as a result of visiting there. *shrugs*

It was a better index of the content that exists than the official sites are\were.

I was reading through all these pages of this topic and I legit thought this site is dead (spoiler: it is not!)

Just register here for free (you gotta register to download): zonegfx.com

To anyone who is new and doesn't know: This site is the ULTIMATE  Smile there are no ads, and it is FULL of content. And the community is sweet Heart .

ZoneGFX is indeed the new and bestest place for content. The owner/mod/chief clerk is working hard and seems to have his heart in the right place. It's a bit slow but otherwise works well, and the point system entices people to upload their own items. The forum is shaping up nicely too as folks get involved.
