It's a 4.77GB file and the file-size limit for FAT32 drives is around 4GB. You need to format your external drives as NTFS (Windows), HFS/AFS (Mac) or ExFAT (both) to store larger than 4GB files.

I should have (and USED to) know that. Still seems weird that VLC couldn't play it. Thanks for the advice. I have a more robust machine I can try it on if I can transfer it to a reformatted drive. Even if it doesn't work, I'd give you another point just for trying to help. Thank you.

No worries. It could be a problem decoding the HEVC video codec if your computer is old-ish and you don't tend to watch a lot of x265 videos. I went with it just because it was the first file I found and as I archive things I tend to prefer to use the most efficient currently-available codecs so I'm sorry it's giving you problems. You can PM me if you still can't get it to play and I'll make an H.264 version.
