Recommend any good RPGs that require 2 GB or lower of memory?

I see.

I can understand your dilemma.

Are you willing to use emulators, namely PS2? If so, here are the system requirements for the famed PCSX2, a Playstation 2 emulator:

Code:
https://pcsx2.net/getting-started.html

Windows Vista / Windows 7 (32bit or 64bit) with the latest DirectX
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo @ 3.2 GHz or better OR i3/i5/i7 @ 2,8 GHz or better OR AMD Phenom II @ 3,2 GHz or better
GPU: 8800gt or better (for Direct3D10 support)
RAM: 1GB on Linux/Windows XP, 2GB or more on Vista / Windows 7

Look through the site and see if you find something that will interest you as I hope you do.

What about 3D games? I've head good things about the Gothic series, and about Morrowind.

Elder Scrolls games like 'Morrowind' were very popular.
I've only played the sequels; 'Oblivion & Skyrim', both were great.
Elderscrolls game also allow player created content so it's possible to create
or download many add-ons. I've found creating new content more addicting
the the games themselves! Tongue

I think I downloaded both games from some shady torrent site.. heh. Big Grin

You can try a PS1 emulator, ePSXe runs well on most low spec systems. You can also get an N64 emulator and a Gameboy emulator and play some the Legend of Zelda games, also pokemon up to 3DS. I know at least the first 4 Assassin's Creed games require less than 2 GB's of memory. Warcraft 3, Neverwinter Nights, Baldur's Gate, Fable, Elder Scrolls, Diablo, Deus Ex, Portal 1 + 2, Star Wars, Middle Earth maybe... Then there are also virtual worlds/MMMORPGS you can try.

Neverwinter is really great but more than memory it need high performance PC, it was coded that way. Pillars of Eternity and Divinity Original Sin are very good. But if you'd like to try a tactical turn based, borderlands 2 is nice, similar to fall out 2.In sci to area System Shock. and Deus Ex. But the first has outdated graphics even with the hires mod.

Don't think the guy is still watching this, we're posting for ourselves. But it is a good subject.

That's a big jump.

EDIT: If you have a kickass system like that, I don't think you need to worry about finding games that will run on a 2GB system.

I meant no disrespect, but you have nothing to lose with modern RPGs.

If you so desire, you can run a PS2 emulator. Those sons of bitches can run Final Fantasy. See if that's our passion.

No, you don't understand. I don't know the details, but I only have about 4.37 GB of physical memory running right now, and if I play something that requires at least 4 GB, that game slows down.
i'm guessing the problem is not with the ram but your gpu... Big Grin  it helps with big ram but if your gpu is low the game might running slow Blush

Ok, your problem is shared memory - No solution but installing new memory and removing/disabling ALL non-essential software, I'm afraid.
There're guides about it around, including in the forum.

All the games I mentioned before should run ok, besides the newest. Your rig is on pair with mine, so 20-40 FPS should be your average.
Basically, if it is more than 10 GB to install, it should be very graphics intensive. The size is in part due to high-resolution textures, wich you should avoid.
That will limit us to games up to 2010-2012, or indie games.

Fallout 4 - Runs decent on most parts for me. Big Grin
GTA 5 - On lower settings, it works. Some parts will be sluggish, but that can make it easier to play. Blush
Witcher 3 - Patched versions after initial release make this game playable if you can bear some slow interactions. Sad
Watchdogs - Unplayable at 4 FPS all the way! Many times it will go down to 1 frame each 2 seconds.  Angry

These are all big games, 30-60 GB.

My system is a 2012 notebook with i5-2450, 8GB RAM, 60GB SSD and nVidia 540M 2GB (dedicated memory makes a huge difference).
An E2 APU should be a Radeon HD 6000-series on a chip; I had a Radeon 5450 AGP and it was good back then.

Basically, your APU should beat Intel's HD graphics by far and, had it dedicated memory, could match the 540M.

And... if you're using a PSX or SNES emulator, try the following games:

- Tales of Phantasia
- Chrono Trigger

Tales of Phantasia was released only in Japan when it was on PSX or SNES, so you might need a translation file for it. Alternatively, you might also want to look into a Gameboy Advance emulator. You won't regret it.
