Questions about Networking Switches
#1
I only have one question about network switches, but in case I or the others here have more, I decide to leave this thread open for myself and for them about this subject.

My question is, if I want to connect a switch to a router, does it matter which port I have to use on a switch to connect it to the router?

For example, do I have the option to use any port on the switch I want or do I have to pick a certain port to connect to the switch.

Thank you.

'Switch' is technically a misnomer.
It should be 'Expander'.
A junction box.

I think it is aptly named as much like the telephone switches of old, it will connect the sender and receiver of a packet without involving unnecessary ports.
