Question about seeding
#1
Can someone tell me when it is alright to stop seeding a show.

For example: at the top right of the show I'm seeding if it reads Up seed 0 B/s is it O.K. to delete ?

If not, how long should I seed a show/movie.

Thanks

You should seed it until someone else starts seeding too. Seeds/leech stats are listed in the task summary; the seed/leech status is updated when the trackers are scraped (usually once at 20mins).
But just to be sure, seed the torrent until it reaches 20.00 share ratio.

EDIT: This applies if you upload a torrent.

Personally as soon as I have 100% of the file I stop the torrent. You are sharing as you download.

Its a balance of risk.
The longer you seed, The longer you stay in the swarm and visible.
If you use a VPN then no worries. Most of the time..

There's no right or wrong answer. It all depends on who's interests you are serving.

Technically, as soon as you upload as much as you have download, you have done your part for the bittorrent community and can leave the swarm. You can continue seeding past this and depending on how many others are also seeding, this may or may not be helpful. If you are the original uploader, then once availability has crossed 1, you can leave and the swarm should be able to take it from there.

Keep in mind some Private Trackers like empornium.me will require a upload ratio. "Over all"

To help with that grab a small torrent with a ton of leechers. So you will upload and keep your ratio relatively quickly.

If you have issues with uploading, Or you uploads don't register with the tracker, Consider a program call Ratio Master.

This will spoof the tracker and give false info of a share and help maintain your ratio. Keep it in the green.
But if you get caught spoofing, Cheating. you will get Banned. Like permanently. That is a BIG no no.
But still an option.
If you get invited to a private tracker Don't cheat. then you and the person who invited you will be banned.
