Program for statistics of my seeding per torrent(time&quantity)?
#1
Hey,

I'm uploading to different places and in some of those places, sharing a file that is no longer that interesting to others is obsolete. Seedboxes take care of those.

I'm using µtorrent. Is there a way to find out how much data a single torrent has uploaded over the last day, month or year? Maybe even see a graph for how much it has uploaded when.

I don't have endless space and right now I'm flying blind when I have to delete old torrents. I use "average bitrate since it was added" for torrents that are over 3 months old and then delete those that are below 500b/s. The 500b/s is subject to change. This isn't a very reliable method though. Who knows when the data uploaded.. Was it around the time I added it? Has it even been active the last year?

Do you know of a program that can let me monitor my torrents?

The first thing you should do, and it is an extremely important thing to do, is to free yourself from the crushing misconception that you have to seed torrents indefinitely. You don't. You should seed torrents you have just uploaded but after that if the community does not value them enough to keep seeding them that is the communities problem. You have done your bit by making the content available in the first place. If you do want to seed a bit more, seed what you personally value. Feel absolutely free to stop seeding anything that you don't personally care about.

Neither uTorrent nor any other client reports upload amounts per torrent per time-period.

But even if they did, that information would not be a sound basis for the decision you're wanting to make. Just because someone has downloaded from you doen't mean they could not have downloaded from someone else (or that they have not downloaded from someone else).

If you want to be a little bit more objective, stop seeding torrents which other people are seeding. There is no point to that. Sort them in uTorrent by clicking on the Seeds column and stop the ones that have the most seeds.

Maybe not exactly what you wanted, but you can see in utorrent how much you have downloaded and how much you have seeded. Not per torrent, but overall. By going into 'preferences' and then 'transfer cap'.

There is no way to do it on a single torrent as far as I know. So do what Sid said. Smile
