Problem with uTorrent
#1
I have been trying for a few days now to figure this out. I have a few PC games and TV series I have been trying to download however they never go above 70kbps. I have the bandwidth set to unlimited and they are connect to 300+ seeds. I downloaded a movie connected only to 155 seeds at 1.5mbps. All the new torrents i download seem to work and download just fine, so I tried removing .torrent and files, restart computer & uTorrent, and redownload the game and tv series torrents, still the same problem. Anyone have any idea what is going on?

I am using windows 8(Dodgy)
uTorrent 3.3.2
Downloading them 1 at time

need any other info ask and i'll post it

You can only download as fast as the peers you are connected to can upload to you while they are also uploading to others.

Connecting to a lot of peers won't make things go faster. In fact, the opposite can be true as each peer you are connected to uses a bit of your bandwidth for protocol.

Multiply all that by the number of torrents you are running simultaneously and you can be using a large amount of your bandwidth just chatting with peers.

If you have changed a lot of settings from their defaults, you should start over and run your client's auto-configuration.

Regardless of how fast you can download, there will be some swarms that just move slow.

I believe it is as you said about the peers with slow upload. I have not messed with any settings in uTorrent other than the number of active torrents and set everything to unlimited. Mostly when I download torrents i only allow 1 to download at a time, unless they're small files. I just thought it was strange how when i first started them, they were downloading perfectly and now they have slowed way down while newer downloads work perfectly. But i'll have to agree to your statement kjf. Just a slow swarm now.
