Hey!

I am able to access the site and can go as far as the torrent page. But as soon as I click Get this Torrent, this happens.

Any idea on what the go is?

Thanks in advance

The torrent is flagged as fake and it was removed. Just checked on BitSnoop: http://bitsnoop.com/captain-phillips-201...31230.html
Pick another one instead: https://thepiratebay.se/search/captain%2...013/0/99/0

This has nothing to do with the torrent being fake or even existing in the first place.

Firefox is not properly configured to handle magnet links.

First step is to go into your torrent client preferences and make sure it is set up to be the default client for torrents and magnet links.

If that doesn't work, then Firefox will either need to have its handlers reset or manually reconfigured to properly pass magnet links to your torrent client.

I don't use uTorrent or Firefox, so I don't have the exact steps in front of me.

Someone else had a similar problem a few days back.
Perhaps you have changed your torrent client and so Firefox needs to be configured.
You do have a bittorrent client installed right :-)

As mentioned, pl. check your Firefox settings.
Tools->Options->Applications.
Are magnet files associated to point to your torrent client.
You should see a row named magnet. Use the drop down list under action column and try pointing it to your torrent client.

If not try this.

Hope this is what kjf too meant.

Yes. Smile

That is exactly what I meant.

Get that sorted out, and magnets will work proper.

This is the fix I need, but I could use a bit more help.

I'm using Linux Mint and I don't understand the way it is organized.

I get a window called "Select Helper Application" which allows me to browse my entire system, but I don't know where to look for the file that would trigger my client (Transmission).

You select the Transmission executable, wherever you installed it.

I know how to do that in Windows. I have no idea where it is in Linux.

I found the location of the trigger file:

/usr/bin/transmission-gtk

That will send the links right to Transmission.
