Plex question
#1
Hi. Has anyone else had the problem that all the Shorts titles disappear after "upgrading" to Plex's new Agent? The feature-length movies are fine, but most of the Shorts are now missing. I definitely have them named properly--I've been using Plex for years now. Thanks.

Big Plex user here too.  Everything for me still looks all matched up and present...of course I did have mine switched over for what feels like about a year now?  (I do have all the Plex movies as their own "movie"-type category because in my head that made more sense so no "Season 1" for me)

Oh you know what?!  From my understanding, the new Plex agent still pulls from thetvdb.org but I just noticed something that might be messing you up: there's both a "Rifftrax" AND a "Rifftrax Shorts" category to match with.  I've got it matched with the normal "Rifftrax" category just fine since it also has all the shorts (all the shorts being season 3) but it looks like that other separate "Rifftrax Shorts" category hasn't been updated since February?  The regular "Rifftrax" category is current though through Chickenomics.  I don't know if you're matching on that "Shorts" one, but maybe try matching like me on the other "Rifftrax" one (which would mean renumbering too of course but there are some good bulk renaming tools out there that can do it in under a minute...I use FileBoss but other people from other threads on here have named other good tools as well)

Thank you for your help. I seem to have done everything "right"--I have all my libraries pointing to the main TVDB page. I wasn't aware of the existence of the separate Shorts TVDB, but as you said, that seems to be maintained less than the full RT library. Even odder, I've been using the new metadata matching for about a month now, but the names disappeared only this weekend. Just Plex being glitchy, I guess / hope.

I can't even tell you what a pain Plex was this time last year, crazy database corruption and would sometimes crash within minutes of me relaunching.  Luckily they kinda have it sorted out these days.  Well you could always try the "plex dance" and move your shorts out, wait for it to see they're gone and then move them back and hope it matches all them up again...?

Ah, the dreaded Plex dance! If all else fails, I will try that. It will be a massive undertaking, though, since I have all the shorts. Some of the movie titles in Season 1 are missing too, so it seems the whole shebang has been unlinked from the TVDB somehow. For as much as I enjoy Plex, it certainly gives me my share of headaches. Thanks again!
