Sort order Plex help needed

Hello friends -

I have a large collection of RiffTrax and MST3K.  I have a very large Plex Server I run here at home (for my family) anyway my question is, can anyone familiar with the sort order and naming scheme that is used on a Plex Server recommend a format to use ?  All my RiffTrax movie's are in ../server1/RiffTrax/Season_01/01x001-[tittle].mkv and so on....... I have them categorized under the Plex "TV Show's" section so I had to name them all with a season and episode i.e 01x010 .. 01x011 ... 01x012 etc....  Maybe I should have put them under the "Video's" section/title IDK. 

If you use Plex then you understand what I mean  

Please any advice on a better way to sort them to work on PLEX, could you let me know ?

I'm curious about this as well. So far I've just put 'Rifftrax' in my 'TV Shows' folder and used Filebot to rename them to conform to the tvdb.com database. I've heard this isn't the ideal order, but at least it scrapes the titles and descriptions.

I don't know anything about RiffTrax but I would think naming them according to this numbering:

Using folder format similar to this:

I use Plex for my Rifftrax and MST3k collections, I'd highly suggest using something like Sonarr. Even if you don't use the downloading functionality you can import files into your collection and it will auto-rename them according to TVDB. The only thing that sucks is that at some point TVDB stopped keeping the posters, so now there are no more cool thumbnails. I've been manually grabbing them and attaching them slowly but it's a bit of work.

Some good ideas .... thanks guys.  I will look into Sonarr next but I really like using FileBot.

You can also do what I did and add a secondary TV shows library just for riffing type shows. Mostly because sometimes I like to be able to just hit shuffle on the whole thing and get different riffs
