Need Last Drive-In, seasons 1 thru 4
#1
Hello, everyone. Been a while since I last visited, hope you are all doing fine. I have a request. I've been trying to find Joe Bob Briggs Last Drive-In, seasons 1 thru 4 somewhere, anywhere, and finally found them here; HOWEVER, they are all files of between 5 & 12 gigs each and Serviio (mine, anyway) has problems with files that size. Also, me being on a very limited, fixed income, storage is very hard for me to come up with (I mentioned this last time I was here and was told, in no uncertain terms, that storage was cheap, so what's my problem? See previous...) I know smaller size files used to exist, and due to a crashed drive (see again previous. You not only need the one drive for the files, but a second for backup) but do not know if they still exist, or where. If anyone has or knows where I could get seasons 1 thru 4, small size (between 1 & 2 gigs, I would be eternally grateful.
Thanks.

People, please. I've got 22 terabytes of video (& 22 terabytes of backup) so, please, anything smaller? And that's The Last Drive-In, seasons 1 thru 4 of the weekly series (around 2019-2020). By the way, if I may ask, what's the obsession with the larger files, anyway? Between The 10+ gig files and the less than 1 gig files, I've noticed little to no difference in quality. Admittedly, I'm probably starting to go blind, but not that blind (I think). SIGHHHHH...more, bigger, more bigger is better...SIGHHHH... Thanks, anyway.

Alright. So nobody has the smaller files, or knows where to get them, of Last Drive-In, seasons 1 - 4 or wants to tell me the reason for the increase in file sizes; thank you anyway. If anybody reading this needs some (old, smaller filer size but still excellent quality, at least, in my opinion) Rifftrax, let me know. I have an extensive collection; I just need to find out where to upload them. Mega used to have a free account; haven't tried them since about 2018 or 2019, although I am downloading the HUGE Dive-In files through them and Mega has changed/improved (as far as I can tell) since then, so I promise to make an effort. Thanks again.

Very disappointed and somewhat puzzled,

Alright, so be it. If anyone else has Serviio media player and has trouble playing the large files, look for a product called Mp4 Media Splitter. Just cut 'em right up into usable size (however sacrilegious that may be); works fine.
P. S.
I take back the comment about not noticing any difference in quality of the larger files. It is noticeable (especially with 4k TV), but still, I would like the smaller files. Thanks again.

err..........Mp4 splitter works only on Mp4 files. DUH. Handbrake to convert from Mkv to Mp4 files, THEN Mp4 splitter; man, such a pain.

The files are that large because it's in 1080p in the best quality. That is why. There are some smaller files that exist out on torrent sites if you look.

You can just add them all to a batch queue in Handbrake and combine both those tasks to save yourself a little time probably. Just gotta experiment where to set the video RF quality or whatever bitrate you are looking for. I'd use MediaInfo and see what the bitrates were on the source files and just do some guesstimating on the math to get what you are looking for. Encodes will still take forever but you won't have to sit there and keep adding more once you have the settings you like.

Thanks, Max Renn; but I actually found a free mkv splitter (called, oddly enough... Free Mkv Splitter), it splits the files, seemingly, without a loss in quality. I do use handbrake a lot, although it's at the basic settings. I have a degree in computer programming (20+ years ago), but i'm just looking for smaller size, not a 2 week learning project (truthfully, just old and lazy).
For Monkstah, a big 'ol DUH for ya'. I challenge you to find seasons 1 thru 4 (all or any) via a web search (as I have done. I was using Firefox for the search), it's just that I know for a fact that there were smaller size files here once and was just hoping they were still around. If you do find them, please let me know. I'll print this page and eat it. Thank you anyway.

You won't find it on a web search. They aren't on the free easily available torrent sites. I have seen them on multiple torrent sites though that you have to sign up for. Also you will not find any version that is 1-2gig big. Even the smallest sizes I have seen are at least 3.5-5gig due to length. Sorry but perhaps you just need to either search and/or shrink them yourself.

I was just explaining why there were so big. No need to get angry about it also. No one has done x265 versions of them which would reduce the size by 1-2gig.

Thanks, monkstah. But I stand by my assertion that the seasons used to be on this forum, although when you mentioned "1-2gig". I have to admit that I do now remember that these files were indeed larger than I remembered (1-3 gig) Which would enable me to have  9 or 10 files to 3 or 4 files for every one of the new files. All of which is beside the point, I pretty much don't sign up for anything via the web anymore (which kjnda' makes it convenient as I don't know any of the "torrent" sites you mention). Anyway, thanks, again.
