Another DOS game uploaded:

PowerSlave / Exhumed (1996)

There's some info about the game over @ MobyGames

(I recently got reminded of DOS/32A, which is a better DOS extender than DOS/4GW which is included in many DOS games. It's included in this release. If you've downloaded my previous DOS game torrents, you can just replace 'dos4gw.exe', with the DOS/32A exe, to increase performance. I tried it with Ignition, and it seems to run faster.)

The cover art looks cheesy.

I hope the game is better than the cover art suggests. Big Grin

Haha Smile

You have a point. The 80s and 90s were pretty cheesy. Many movie posters and game covers from those decades are like that.

It's an alright FPS. My bro used to have it on PS1 when I was little, but the PS1 version is different.

Different is actually better.

At least there is a semblance that the game is appealing.

I've never played the Saturn version, and haven't got into the PS1 version, and barely played the DOS version. So it's difficult for me to judge which is better. Though, I've watched Digital Foundry's videos about the game, and they think the Saturn version is best, since it's running on Lobotomy Software's own engine that they made in-house. The PC version uses the Build engine, same as Duke Nukem 3D, Blood, Shadow Warrior etc.

By now, the remaster on Steam is probably the best version. It merges all 3 versions into the same game.

Retro.Video.Games.Full.ROM.Sets.v1-GaYMZ

This torrent contains full ROM sets (verified, and correctly renamed by GoodTools), for the following systems:

* Atari Jaguar: (jag.7z)
* Atari Lynx: (lnx.7z)
* Bandai WonderSwan / Color: (wsx.7z)
* Game Boy Advance: (gba.7z)
* Game Boy / Color: (gbx.7z)
* Neo Geo Pocket / Color: (ngpx.7z)
* Nintendo 64: (n64.7z)
* Nintendo Entertainment System / Famicom: (nes.7z)
* Super Nintendo Entertainment System / Super Famicom: (snes.7z)
  (Including Satellaview ROMs)
* PC Engine / TurboGrafx-16 / SuperGrafx: (pce.7z)
* Sega 32X: (gen.7z)
* Sega Game Gear: (gg.7z)
* Sega Genesis / Mega Drive: (gen.7z)
* Sega Master System: (sms.7z)
* Virtual Boy: (vb.7z)

I worked very hard to make sure these ROM sets are complete, and there's only a handful of ROMs missing from a couple of the sets (according to GoodTools).

I chose to only include ROMs for systems that I personally find interesting and worthwhile, so don't be disappointed if your favorite system is not included. But I think for most people, the systems I included will be of interest.

I did not include disc-based systems, as that would exponentially blow up the size of this torrent. I did not include Neo Geo as that's included in full MAME ROM sets that you can easily find on archive.org and other places. A full MAME set is quite large, and would blow up the size of the torrent.

I spent a lot of time converting ROMs to the proper file formats, and making sure they have the correct filename extensions, for consistency. Some of them could not be converted (and still be recognized by GoodTools), and some of them may have incorrect filename extensions. With some systems it's hard to tell just exactly what format the ROM is in, unless you're proficient in reading hex code, and I'm not.

Due to these ROM sets being complete, some of them are huge. 7zip compression is very good, so just looking at the size of the archives does not give a good hint about how astronomically large the extracted directories are. I realize some people may not have enough free disk space to be able to extract the larger archives. So I used a script that automatically finds all verified US ROMs, and I put those smaller archives in the 'roms/us' directory. It will be a lot easier scrolling through those smaller directories and find the games you want to play, if you use RetroArch or some other emulator.

This is the first version of the collection, as indicated by the name of the torrent. I may upload updated versions in the future, if I manage to find missing ROMs or want to include other systems.

I hope you will enjoy this collection, and would highly appreciate if you help to seed it, as my upload speed is not very good. I don't want this torrent to die as it's rare to find full ROM sets like these.

PS, Here's a couple of links to scripts that may be useful:

https://github.com/linux4ever07/scripts/.../packer.sh
(Useful for batch processing of archives, due to its simple and consistent syntax)

https://github.com/linux4ever07/scripts/...db_fast.pl
(Useful for keeping track of whether or not files have changed or been deleted)

Keep an eye on that GitHub repository, as ROM-related scripts may show up there in the future.

Interesting collection!

I've been hearing about the fabled Satellaview system for the Super Famicom. Might want to check those out!
