Check AVG Virus Vault to see if AVG is the culprit : Options ==>> Virus Vault
If it's not. Check Malwarebytes Quarintine: Malwarebytes ==>> Quarintine
Running 2 A/V instances is never a good idea. Either disable AVG or disable Windows Defender.

I've had problems with AVG not recognizing exceptions when you select an entire folder. But it works fine if you select file and choose the individual file that is being quarantined.
If you try that and it still doesn't help, it probably isn't AVG causing the problem.

Most if not all key-gens are picked up as viruses/malware etc by A/V software because of their use of heuristics ("If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck. Then it must be a duck").
Getting pink skulled shows that the uploader is trusted by TPB so i wouldn't worry about what your A/V is telling you. And to answer your original question. Yes, it's more than likely a false positive.
