Movie Subtitles
#1
When I watch a movie directly from a dvd it puts up subtitles when someone speaks a language that isint my own, then stops with the subtitles when it goes back to my language.

Is there a location where you can get a .srt file that does that instead of translating everything or a way of achieving this result?

Thanks.

When you google it, type in the movie and add "_____ subs for non English parts only." Some times you get lucky.

But the thing is, movies usually come with subs hard coded like that for you anyway.

But I know there are movies that movies that dont have any hard coded subs, so yeah.. good luck with that. I saw Lone Survivor the other day and couldnt find any subs for the non English parts.

I have been having the same issue and Yify is the only member that I get my torrents from because they're always very high quality and they're MP4 which is important because I put the movies onto a hard drive that is then connected to my xbox. MKV doesn't work and AVI is poor quality and often appears to lag and is sometimes "pixelated." There have been several movies I have watched lately and haven't been able to finish because I felt like I was missing too much when there were no subtitles for the foreign speaking scenes (most recently Captain Phillips, Elysium, The Wolverine, etc). Although today I watched Machete Kills and the Spanish Subtitles were displayed during the film, but that is the only movie that I've seen that happen. I've never used subtitles on DVDs and/or BluRay's and the subtitles for the foreign language would always appear anyway...so I'm kind of stumped on this one...

So....I guess subtitles at least have to be present for the foreign language translation to be on screen? Has anyone been able to figure out a fix for this or perhaps knows of a member that includes the subtitles for the foreign language scenes? Or am I doing something wrong when I am transferring the files to my external hard drive?

Thank you in advance for any help or advice!!!

What I meant by that was, that usually the studio hard codes subs. If an American film company does a movie and they a few Japanese parts or something, these are usually hardcoded on screen. So if its ripped, they should already be on there. Thats what I meant.

But yeah, Im sure theres stuff out there that doesnt have anything at all.

I also download many movies from Yify and when Elysium came out I felt the same way. I use SubScene for my subs which is really great but at the time there were none for Elysium foreign parts only so I downloaded from Yify Subtitles and edited one of them on my own and uploaded it at subscene Elysium Foreign Parts Only. When you search for a movie there and it brings up a large list of sub just hit Ctrl+F and search for "Foreign Parts Only".
