Generate Subtitles Automatically
#1
What's up fellas?

I need some help, please. I have a film file that is in Russian and I need to generate subtitles, but I don't speak Russian. So I wonder if maybe there is any program or software online for free that I can generate the subtitles automatically, just uploading the video file or the audio extracted from the original file.

Sorry for the bad writing.

The player VLC willl play most video files and does support subtitles.

What you have to do is to name the filename to be the same one as the video if you want to use that subtitle by default. Otherwise, just add the subtitle manually in VLC's settings.

If you're using Windows Media Player or Media Player Classic - Home Cinema (MPC-HM), you do the same thing, plus add the K-Lite Codec pack. This can be found here: http://codecguide.com

I hope this helps.

EDIT: If you want to embed the subtitles into a more finished form of the video and don't mind making another video file, use Handbrake. it's a DVD ripper and a video converter that can help you add the video, burn it (just put it in the picture without the ability to get rid of it) or make it a choice. Either way, it will always be there, just in different forms.

Lots of free software out there.

@RX: I am not sure that is what the OP meant.

@OP: while youtube/google have implementations of automatically generated subtitles they are usually really bad (I tried watching a felini movie on youtube with autogenerated subs the other day and it was insufferable). You are better off trying to find human made subtitles for your movie. You can google [movietitle]+subtitles and maybe get lucky. Or you can post a link to the torrent/movie in question here and hope someone will be able to find suitable subtitles for you.

Sounds like you want something like this: https://www.veed.io/translate-video
Or this other one: https://amara.org/en/

Makers say they can auto-translate videos (including YouTube), creating captions you can download. I didn't test it but will soon see how it works.
After generation an automatic subtitles file, you will want to edit it; maybe one of these: https://www.wondershare.com/subtitle/sub...ators.html

I wouldn't feel safe uploading some pirated movie to their service while logged in via my google or facebook account though...

Do it in 10 minutes parts, in random order, different movies, different dates, use silly names like "trailer"?
