While working on another pass at Warriors (thanks to Riffling for tossing a rip my way) I noticed something a lot more clearly than when I was working with my encode. There are a lot of splices in the Rifftrax version where footage was deleted where it seems that a person not so great at using a linear editor and you get shit like this:

(This also making upgrading a bit of a pain in the ass because I have to use different cuts than these splices) I just found this fascinating

EDIT: Swear to god five minutes later this shows exactly why this one is such a hard one to upgrade. Take a look at this screenshot here. Now the top clip in the timeline is the BR Rip and the bottom is the official Rifftrax. The cuts you see on both (save for the floating clip) are the actual cuts video. Since the edit in whatever version that Rifftrax cuts in AND out early on that scene it makes it a nightmare to sync this shit quickly. I had to base it on the frame I have in the preview (first frame that the gunshot happens) do to the poor quality of the rifftrax one where the light lingers a bit longer. It also doesn't help that I am using a different editor for these as I learned my high end editing on Premiere (which is what I used for everything that I have posted in this thread actually) but this lets me edit MKV directly without have to re-encode a few times. It's all about that workflow!

Just wanted you all to know the shit that goes into making these Big Grin

Yep, Have fun. I started on the same project over a year ago and just said fuck it. Normally i like stuff like this, but Warriors just pissed me off too much. And my theory on this cut of the film RIfftrax uses is that it may not have been them that edited it, that they just got the cheapest, most terrible VHS copy of the film. The 80's had many different versions of many different movies, edited to shit for no reason.
Also, i noticed you found powerdirector to, great program.

Couple of updates here:

1) My "Prisoners Of The Lost Universe" blu came in
2) Warriors has been completed, again
3) Took the videos down from the OP due to having final upgraded versions up in the next day or so

What I noticed when I was checking my Warriors export is that my riff audio quality is garbage. It seems I might be going off of an older divx copy and I was wondering if anyone had the HighTV version laying around.

Prisoners (round 2) should be up tomorrow and Warriors as soon as I can get a better audio track!

Finally, still looking for a rip/iso of the new The Apple blu. Would love to not have to buy that Blu myself due to already spending about $60 for these upgrades and it's starting to make my partner pretty cranky!

Here was my attempt at Warriors of the wasteland: only got ~20 minutes in and had to take a mental break and couldn't go back. Did you finish it? Here is the HighTV File:

Let me know if you want my working file (PowerDirector).

UPDATE:

After Riffling tossed me that better version of the Warriors Riff I was able to get mine sounding great so I am back to encoding. I have raw combined versions of: Warriors Of The Wasteland, Prisoners Of The Lost Universe (now with BR Rip!), Hawk The Slayer (with my own BR Rip), Hulk: Final Round (just did another pass with Director) and a quick "fix" of the HD version of ROTOR we have kicking around (removed the extra stuff so it's paced like the official one). Once I get those to a decent size I'll upload my final versions!

In the mean time I have started working on my next project . . .

(Big reason I am doing this next is due to things like Daredevil and Ghost Rider having weird Director's Cuts and I'll have to do something similar to those as I am doing here and Carnival is a much shorter movie)

So you're aware Herod did a sync of CoS which I managed to line up with the Criterion BD:

Are you planning on creating an audio track which would match the extended video runtimes? or creating an edited videotrack to match the theatrical audio runtimes? We sort of have the latter only using iTunes HD versions for the video as iTunes has the theatrical versions. What we don't have is the RiffTrax Just the Jokes synced to the Extended versions which is more likely to be futureproof for when the UHDBD's are released etc. The downside to this (as mentioned in the PM) is we'll have 30 minutes of unriffed content for Daredevil and 13 minutes of unriffed content for Ghost Rider.

I wasn't able to sync your Hulk Final round to the Scene 1080p encode floating around even though I'm pretty sure that's the source you used. You're 1.3GB encode was still a marked improvement over the official VOD though.

It is going to be a mostly HD version of the Director's cut of the movie. My local library has the original version that Criterion on DVD and was going to use that for the missing scenes. My mantra when doing these is just to make an HD version of the Rifftrax. What they use, I use. What they cut, I cut. Unless people want it the other way around that will be the way that I keep making them. Same with Ghost Rider/Daredevil (though I will have to source that HD version for the sex scene since that wasn't used in the DC)
