Keep my books online
#1
I have 25 thousand books (the library of Fiction English only, I have many others but they do not interest me)
It's about 24 giga.
I want to put them online.
I want to share with everyone
I would be happy to suggest
Thanks.

Another thing: how do I check if there is a book listing on my ownership, and if so how do I remove it?

If you want to upload and share with others, then go ahead and upload for the sheer pleasure of sharing without restriction. (Uploading is borked at the moment, keep your eyes on the TPB Stats page for when there are new torrents)

I see you haven't logged into your TPB account for 5 years. If you have any problems logging in or remembering your password, post in Account Issues.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'ownership,' could you elaborate?

If you want to share your archive you can consider uploading it on TPB or libgen, just read the part on how to upload a book.

I wanted to share but not sure that through the torrent, it means putting a book book, or a whole library according to genres.

As for 'ownership' I have books I bought from Amazon, and I became EPUB so I want to know if I do not have my identity on them.

Calibre removes DRM with plug-in.

How do I know if there is no DRM on a book?

Thanks

I'm no expert.  Read up on calibre, and check their forums, for they claim to remove the DRM.  I have removed 4m4zon's DRM from my own books and it's definitely gone.

You could convert all the books in question to another format that cannot hold the DRM info.  Like, when I build a web page with some copied text from word document, I first run it through notepad to get rid of any hidden formatting.  You could also test the books on another machine that doesn't have your accounts to see if they work.

Good luck Big Grin

Books purchased from Amazon are mostly in .azw format.
This file is DRM protected and can only be viewed by you, the purchaser of the book.
There is no point in sharing this file. You need to remove the DRM protection.

A Calibre plug-in helps to remove the DRM protection. (See : https://apprenticealf.wordpress.com/)
To do this, you install the plugin and then open the above .azw file in Calibre.
If DRM removal is successful, a .azw3 file is created.

This .azw3 file can be viewed by everybody and hence can be shared.

Prior to sharing you may chose to convert to EPUB/MOBI or upload it as it is.

No identity information is known to exist in the amazon purchased files.
So, you are safe to share it (after DRM removal).

As for how to upload, browse through TPB's Ebooks section.
Some uploaders upload one torrent per book.
Some group them by subject, by author or simply post them in multiple bundles.
It is up to you.

Calibre also has a web server interface that allows people to browse your library and dl anything they find of interest, if you set it to public. I forgot the google search phrase but I remember posting it in the where to find free ebooks thread or whatever it was called. The best cloud backup is probably torrents though, but the less popular stuff will end up with little to no seeds.

Alternatively mega is a decent service with high level encryption, but I don't think the storage you get from a free account exceeds 15GB. There's always google drive ... I have plenty pirated shit and videos of questionable content backed up on several google accounts... Never had a single complaint from google.

^That is a nice feature in Calibre. One can find it under Preferences -> Sharing.

It is an open format that some other ebook readers also allow to be 'used'; a client-server approach.

But one must exercise due care before sharing it this way, with the outside world.

Edit to my earlier post.
Amazon has had a new KFX format for a while now.
Apparently the DRM removal plugins can handle that too. (Ref: apprenticealf link above)
I have not tried it. Am still staying with an older version of the plugin and Kindle4PC.
Staying with a older Kindle4PC version allows me to download the files as .azw instead of kfx.
