 [[  Release iNFO................:- ]]

Name: Sin City: A Dame to Kill For
Also Known As: Sin City 2
 Year: 2014
 Source: Retail Blu-Ray REMUX
 iMDB: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0458481/
 Genre: Action, Crime, Thriller
Certification: Rated R for strong brutal stylized violence throughout, sexual content, nudity, and brief
 drug use (18)

Storyline: Some of Sin City's most hard-boiled citizens cross paths with a few of its more reviled
 inhabitants...

Tagline(s): There is no justice without sin. Outlaws Will Become Heroes in a City Without Justice.

Trivia: The lead role was originally offered to Johnny Depp, but he declined due to scheduling conflicts.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt later replaced him, despite offers to star in other movies such as Guardians of the
Galaxy (2014) and Godzilla (2014). In 2006 when Rodriguez first started putting together ideas for
"Sin City 2," he considered Depp for the part of Wallace, the lead character of "Hell and Back," which
he was hoping to adapt as one of the film's three segments. The idea to adapt "Hell and Back" was scrapped,
however, and Rodriguez chose to adapt "Just Another Saturday Night," "A Dame to Kill For," and the never
published "The Long, Bad Night" instead.

Credits: Robert Rodriguez's credit for 'Cinematography' and the editing is displayed as "Shot and cut by
 Robert Rodriguez".

 iMDB: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0097390/
 Certification: Rated R (18)

Dandridge was a serial killer posing as a vampire. But when Regine, a mysterious actress and her entourage

Tagline: Welcome back... Do you have a taste for terror? The suckers are back.

I toggled with the idea of rippin' the HD-DVD version but the audio used for that was an inferior Dolby
Digital Plus 5.1 source, so I went with the Blu-Ray and superior DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1.

 Name: Fortress
 Year: 1992
Source: Retail, Blu-Ray, REMUX (Nameless Media) UNRATED and Un-cut version.
 iMDB: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0106950/
 Certification: UNRATED / (18)
 Genre: Action, Crime, Sci-Fi

Storyline: In a future, private underground prison/Fortress, the inmates are computer controlled with CCTV,
dream readers and devices that can cause pain or death. John and his illegally pregnant wife are inside
but want to escape before birth...

Tagline: Welcome to the future Where punishment is the ultimate crime.

Trivia: Much of the film was shot on location at a prison. The cast and crew had to sign waivers affirming
that they would not be rescued if the inmates took them hostage. At one point... a prison official gave
several cast members safety vests to wear for protection, but promptly told the horrified cast members he
wasn't sure it would help in case of a riot because "they usually go after your eyes anyway."

Not a bad upscale, done better but seen worse. It's a definite improvement over the Blu-Ray and still
within Blu-Ray disc size but 4 x the resolution. Hopefully one day we'll get a true-4K remaster, but
until then (if ever) then this is the better option for those looking to store a digital copy...

As requested on TGx an Ai-Enhanced 4K upscale* with "PROPER" frame-rate left in tact for The Island 2005.

Film grain reduced but not completely removed, otherwise you lose details & run the risk of a waxfest.

I don't own this Blu-Ray so I went with the Asmo REMUX source over the FraMeSToR one as it was a higher
 REMUX quality source.

I get some people like duplicated frame-rate aka Ai-interpolation, but most don't... Not with cinema
anyway... Either way, the choice of both is King, so I raise a glass to those who work hard and give you
 that choice.

Whatever tickles your pickle. Each to their own, different strokes for different folks... etc etc...

Though I think we all know by now, which side my bread is buttered when it comes to cinematography...

 iMDB: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0370263/

Storyline: During an archaeological expedition on Bouvetoya Island in Antarctica, a team of archaeologists

that only one species can win...

Tagline(s): It's our planet... It's their war. Whoever wins... We lose.

Trivia: In an interview, director Paul W.S. Anderson said that Arnold Schwarzenegger offered to reprise his
role as Dutch Schaefer (from Predator (1987)) at the end of this movie as a cameo, but only if he lost the
election for California Governor. Schwarzenegger famously won the election, so he was unavailable to appear.

 [[ Unrated Edition iNFO...............:- ]]

The 'Unrated Edition' runs nearly 8 minutes longer than the theatrical version. It features deleted plot
 and character scenes.

It also has some alternative footage added with CGI blood effects. The story is much better told and the
violence and gore are much stronger than in the 'Theatrical' version.

 [[ KC's Rip/Encode Notes:.............:- ]]

The improvement over the BR is clear with a sharper more focused picture with Grain/Noise reduced.
