I'm not seeing malice in your post at all. I'm just pointing out the flaws in your logic. Trump's approval rating has been hovering around 35%. You act like the average person has any control over what the government does. The electoral college is not democratic but I didn't come up with it. It's a relic from 1789. At any rate, the government is bought and paid for. No matter who wins nothing changes. We have two pro-war parties. Two pro-surveillance parties. Two pro-Wall Street parties. The average voter has little to no influence.

The average voter has little or no influence because you guys accept the status quo. Again, from outside looking in. E.g., reddit. Lots and lots of talking about how unfair your "Democratic" system is and how it need to be changed.

Here's a suggestion. X amount of candidates. The 1 candidate who gets the most physical/actual votes wins. It's not rocket science. It Democracy.

The process yous' use and the current result has made your nation more toxic than Iran, DPRK etc. I think you guys need to internalize just how toxic us outside of America now view America

And we can do zero to change it. Amending the constitution to change the electoral process takes a vote by 2/3's of the state legislatures. In today's polarized climate that will never happen.

That's defeatist. Your nation was built on the backs and blood of those who chose freedom. Vote. Lobby. Do everything you can to bring you guys back to normality. Democracy allows the peaceful gathering to protest. Your parents, and their parents did it.

Just to re-cap. Those of us who are not American are watching how you guys deal with this attack on Democracy. Nobody expects perfection, but we'd expect something other than what's come up until now Wink

Your nation is in shit atm. Everyone can see it. So fix it. Simple Smile

Hopefully there will be a major snap back in November's congressional elections against Trump and the republicans. I'll be voting.

Guys, my two bits:

1. The more people and money involved, the harder it is to come to a good result. Don't expect the best person for the job to become president; Florence Nattingale, Orville Wright, even George Lucas could've been candidates. The USA system works for the barons, not for the people.

2. If a bully oligarchy won't let go their habits, there're ways out - Not for the individuals, but for the mass. The beauty of the USA Constitution is in the Second Amendment - To counter tyranny, go Gandhi or gun-dee way. I believe modern western cultures demand the rifle doctrine.

So Schnitz, living in the Alps you got a service rifle. Why don't you go there and change things on your own turf, for example?

@ dueda. I read all you said up until:

.

It was then i broke my ass laughing.

I choose not to rip you a new NRA sanctioned asshole because. Yep. You've ploughed that field all on your lonesome and are a specific type of asshole. Individual. Spechul. Unique Wink

I'm on my own "turf". Here we don't give free reign for nutz to murder our kids. As an example Wink

And yes. I've got a service rifle. 2 Glocks and an AR-15. Without killing kids. On the kill score. Not a single kid shot to death yet. Maybe my NRA is broken Wink

The 2nd amendment is a terrible outdated piece of the constitution. It results in a lot of dead kids. Since nothing changed after Newtown, CT I'm skeptical that anything will change this time.

@dueda. Your in the game so lets have some fun. You've got issue with how we have or have not got guns. Collectively we'd call you an asshole but collectively we would like you to continue. Please continue lol

It's ok to be spechul. We love spechul people Wink

Maybe you'd need to read from the OP so as to get into this convo. Jumping in with totally random shit is work for us. We've to try and figure shit out.

Anyway. Stop being a fucking tard. Wink

I don't live in USA and I understand it has extreme consequences. Crime is a social fact and society became like in the "rat box" experience.
But believe me: Here guns became forbidden (government trampled our constitution and simply banned them on a small legal loophole).
Yet there are hundreds of assault rifles in hands of criminals, thousands of pistols killing more people in one year USA lost in entire VietNam.
So we are unarmed against a building up civil war. You at least can (legally) buy the means to hold your house.
And put down your government, if choose to.

First, guys, I really believe there're two ways of dealing with society: You take it as it is or you go change it.

So, Schnitz, the question was authentic. I would like to know, since you talked about defeatism, what you would do.

a) Rapists won't stop because you ask them. So either you go on empty handed, or you may choose to carry a weapon.
Lets just remember your people invented wood bullets. So your people are used to understand violence as a mean to greater good.

b) NRA? I don't live in USA. But yes, I'm pro guns. Had a license and went to the range sometimes.

c) Turd? Really? Very democratic and academic thinking: If he is different, he deserves to die. Is that so?

I can't understand you. You mentioned "here we don't"... So if my question is so out of place, your ideas are?
