I don't mind a few ads to put some money in the owner's pocket. However, even with an adblocker I can't click on anything without an ad popup.

Add a site blocker to your browser, and block those sites with it. Or even better copy the ips (there are usually a limited number) and put then in your hosts file to block, like:
127.0.0.1 google.admanager.com Also make sure to use NoScript, to keep the boogers at bay.
