What has happened to the fun at SB?

SB used to set the forum bar at a level others couldn't dream to attain but now it appears to be just a place for requests, Apps, eBooks, games, movies, porn or help.

There is nothing wrong with requests or asking for help at all but what about amusing things or fun? None of us seem to contribute to the fun side of life here yes we have loads of interesting stuff via the news and what’s happening in the world but what about fun? I don't want the place to turn into anything else but a great place to hang out but it needs balance. "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy"

I’m not necessarily referring to the void far be it but that could do with livening up from time to time.

I am just asking what happened to all the fun stuff and people that used to be here.

It's just a question and maybe I’m wrong in even asking but where I come from if you don’t ask you don’t get.

I’m not asking for any extremes or excesses. A kick up the arse and a bit of life put back in the old place thats all. A few laughs or just a bit of levity would do.

the lack of discussions on the forums mostly because almost all things that meant to be discussed is already became lame topics if not already discussed and peoples tend to think that discussions won't solved problems and only accumulating arguments into pointless debate so the thread easily closed that led peoples to goes into apathy to any kind of topics or news that can start a good discussions...

SuprBay is undoubtedly still the best torrenting forum around, and provides a home for the majority of members who are quite techy/geeky as well as those who are completely new to filesharing.

The forum has a good reputation with members who put in requests, due to the overall helpful nature of many members - and I'm not sure why you refer to that as 'just a place for requests' when it's a positive for a request to be fulfilled.

I'm not sure in which forum you hope or expect to see 'fun' - Apps/Software, Programming/Development? Fun and games belong in The Void, but if it's witticisms you're after - they tend to get posted in established and well-thought out threads (regardless of the topic) where the convo can get heated. On SB 1.0, many of those heated convos took place in either General Discussion, Economics/Politics/Law, or the Movies forum.

For that to happen, someone has to create the thread in the first place for some interesting and even 'lively' dialogue to follow. I've said this before.... those threads aren't going to write themselves, so instead of waiting for someone else to create interesting, intelligent threads (the kind where flaming/gentle trolling takes place but is so subtle that most don't recognise it), be proactive and get some started yourself.

It's all well and good saying 'this place needs more whatever' or 'SB could do with more..' but if everyone had that mindset, we'd be looking at a blank forum. The heart of this forum is the members, make it what you will by all means, but contribute instead of waiting for something to happen.
