How to be sure Windows 10 isn't spying you?

Hi,

I know that may sounds paranoid, but I'm still using Windows 7 even if I'd like to upgrade to Windows 10, but I'm afraid of the data spying :/

Is that real, that they're spying you? What about installing cracked files? Do you feel safe doing this? do you have a way how you can still feel save doing this on windows 10?

Hoping about to get serious answers, and you won't joke about my worries

Sorry, couldn't help joking about it. I'll just say it like this. You're not paranoid. If you where, you'd still be on Windows 98, because the paranoid people have said that MS has spied on people since Windows XP (which is all their in their tinfoil brain).

I'm on Windows 10, I've only turned of advert generating features, and I'm not afraid of, if it really gets sent away, showing that I play hentai games.

Let common sense be your guide.

While you're welcome to download from any source, I think it makes sense to trust more in uploaders with a lengthy, proven record.

Check out files you've downloaded with your virus checker before installing them. Better still, try an aggregate site like www.virustotal.com. Lots of good, crunchy, useful information to see what's going on in those executables, etc.

Avoid sites with a bad rep, or at least, find out why they have that rep before deciding to visit, much less download.

Do some research on anything you install, before you install it. Some apps gather information--whether "to help your experience" or pass along information to aliens from Alpha Centauri, I can't say. It pays to check.
