You just insist too much in all that copyright shit. If you want to ask about copyright, ask directly, maybe someone gives a shit about it.

But apart from that issue, what do you think about the creative commons licence? that would be a solution for the free content sharing?

"CC licenses are a patch, not a fix, for the problems of the copyright system. They apply only to works whose creators make a conscious decision to affirmatively license the right for the public to exercise exclusive rights that the law automatically grants to them. The success of open licensing demonstrates the benefits that sharing and remixing can bring to individuals and society as a whole. However, CC operates within the frame of copyright law, and as a practical matter, only a small fraction of copyrighted works will ever be covered by our licenses."
Copyright shouldn't apply to private-non commercial use. It's better that culture works are the more widely known the better. Copyright is a boring short-sighted issue.

What do you think that would happen if TPB is removed from internet just like Megaupload?

The same thing that happened when Megaupload was removed.

A downturn in downloading for about a month while people asked "wtf", waited to see whether it would come back up, and found replacement sites.

Followed by a return to the previous level of downloading within another month and the previous level of growth in downloading from then on.

Well i see taht you are trolling, but i will still answer.
If TPB gets closed like MegaUpload there will be a massive chaos all over the world, Protests, new organizations for Freedom of Speech, the world wouldn't be the same with all the chaos. Really it would cost a trilions to fix everything that happends in time of chaos. Why chaos you may ask, well around the world thers always at least 6 milion people on TPB (registed user), and they are sharing files, they get here to post funny things, we love this, this is the best way to spend time on the internet, we have IRC too were we have fun (some like me don't). So many school around the world use thing from TPB like OSs, e-books etc. and the money they would spend to buy an OS, they spend to buy some poor kids food. i think a gave enoguh reasons why would TPB never get closed, and why would people never stop seeding.

1. What does TPB means to you?
It's a place to interact with a truly world wide community. And everybody who's here has their own reason for being here so it's an interesting mix.

2. Why do you use TPB?
To find out about what's going on in other countries and cultures and get quality free stuff.

3. What is so appealing on TPB?
There's always something new going on and the chicks are hot.

4. Since when do you know this website?
2009.

5. Do you like all the content shared on the page?
Yea, have found stuff I didn't even know I wanted.

6. What do you think about copyright? Should it disappear?
I got pissed off about it all after buying an Allman Brothers CD and realized I had already bought this exact same song collection in four different formats. Each one more expensive than the previous. Copyright has it's place, but not for American corporations to use as a club to extract money and impose their will. The technology has changed but the law hasn't. And people always get a pleasure from sayin fuck the man.

I realize as I compose this that TPB means a surprising amount to me, and my emotion had expanded and matured over many years. The warmth is deeper than the appreciation of facilitating effective decentralized information access.

Maybe it's best summed up by my torrent descriptions post text:

"Thanks for sharing & caring."

Thanks for caring & sharing - in your life, in the world; for your life, for the world.

Cheers, FerraBit

I don't know if the OP is trolling or if he's not "smart enough" to put one and one together, but these questions are interesting ones.

I especially enjoyed reading the answers about copyright and that particular "what if TPB goes down" scenario, though I'm sure those issues are asked about millions of times here before.
