It just seems like a great idea to me. I just picked up a cheap 15 year old car and I would love to be able to do my own repair work. (I bought a cheap car for a reason)
Has anyone started a pirate site for car repair manuals?

I was able to find my last 2 car manuals in the ebook section. Of course, they were the same make/model, just different years. Don't they go between $20-$30 a piece?

My local library has them online. I don't know what your location or situation is, but check it out if it's an option available to you.
Or alternatively, you can forfeit a little anonymity and PM the make/model of your vehicle. I'll see if I can find it, and scrape it for you.

There will be tons of manuals for all the different models of the cars.
Do you plan to concentrate in the repair manuals for older cars only ? As the manuals for old models are not so easy to find. If you can get hold of these manuals, they will be goldmines.

Well according to my library, the manuals go back to 1945.

And you know someone should take it one step further and include repair manuals and schematics for all kinds of old things. IE: Radios, TVs, Refrigerators, old computers, telephones, etc

Do a search on one of the retention sites might find what you are looking for.

I think the Mitchell.OnDemand torrents made the idea of individual manuals redundant,
which why you don't see many. Why post a manual when the pro library is available?
