Get Brexit Done.

If you live in the UK, on the 12th of December 2019.  Vote for Tory and vote to keep Boris in.  Give Boris the power to get Brexit done so that the good people of the UK can put all this Brexit aside and get on with their lives.  Vote Tory and give the UK citizens their lives back.  Get Brexit done and then everybody can move on into 2020...

As a Yank I like Bojo. Doesnt come off as an imperious arse like Blair, or a monster like Thatcher.

As the EEC was designed to crush national sovereignity (ask Greece) for Britain to realy retain its culture and its prerogatives - it must leave.

I wonder if the recent media feeding frenzy on the Saxe-Coburg family princeling has any bearing on the Brexit issue.

Take it from an American, who follows at least some of what's happening in the UK :   Brexit and Trump-wannabe Boris Johnson are bad news.
Boris already lost the support of his own Parliament months ago.  His one term is coming to an end!   I'm not saying Jeremy Korbin will replace him as Prime Minister, but there's always hope....  Brexit would be a disaster for working-class British people.  If you're not rich, it won't help you!

What I dont well understand are the risks/benefits of Brexit.

I see the benefits as being able to restrict immigration, as well as fully control their fiscal policy (at least as much as the City of London and BIS will let them).
And sovereignity being fully restored.

I see the risks as being mainly that expats living on pensions will lose their rights and benefits.
That tariifs *might* raise prices.
That a NAFTA type agreement will be establsihed between US and UK, effectively making it the 51st state. And GMO crap being forced on the markets.

This I beleive will protect it from the wrath of our Deep State as we prop up our Dollar by eviscerating the EU economies. Germany is first on the HitList.
The only way we can protect the EU from Russki trade is to destroy it. A game the UK itself invented.

Am I missing something???

One very good reason to have Brexit is to stop having to pay tonnes of money into the EU every year, that's one very good reason that I know about.  I did actually vote for Brexit back in 2016 which is why I want to vote for Tory so that they will deliver Brexit.  I'm sure there's many reasons to have Brexit or to not have Brexit.  I would have voted for the Brexit party but in my area there is no MP so that's out of the question.  I just want to vote for the party that believes in that I voted to leave.  I don't think it's wise really to choose to change my mind after about 3 and a bit years I feel I should stick to my decision.

I think that if the Tories get a majority on Friday morning then it should be interesting to see if they will actually deliver Brexit and honour the decision of the people.  If Tory get all the votes then maybe they might actually do it but if Labour get a lot of votes this time it could mean the whole thing could be abandoned maybe.  This really is a decision about Brexit more than anything, it should be interesting and depends on whether it will really ever happen but millions of people all voted for it, 17.4 million people back in 2016.

Qui bono? Follow the money. The outcome will depend on who gathers to gain most from a Brexit: The City of London, or the Eurocrats (Basil/BIS) crew.
The traditional parties are there, like here bought and owned by the same players. It is all a 'kabuki drama'. Bojo might be trying to buck the system as a populist, but the old money sees him as a bumbling social climber, and probably has never invited him to their country clubs, where the real parliament is.
At least not throught the front door.

I thought Bojo had the support from the Lady With The Funny Hats?
She is, after all, the one who *really* runs the country.
As in dismiss PMs at will.

It's true she does run the country.  If she wants she can take over any land she wants to.  You can buy a house here that's fine and you can own it for years and pay all the money you owe and all this but if she decided for any unknown reason she wanted your land that your property is located on then she could just take it back regardless of what you think.  Even if you've paid thousands to own your home she can just claim it in any way she wants.

The election was a landslide BTW, Labour were destroyed.  Glad I voted for the right party.

The queen does have a lot of power in England, it's her courts and her prisons really.  You'd be screwed if she decided she wanted to take your land, not that it usually happens, but there'd be nothing you could do about it she rules here and she is in control of everything.

"Right" Wing people here in the U.S. are Republican voters.  I'm an Independent who usually votes Democratic, but I have also voted third-party.

It's unfortunate that my prediction on what happened in the UK was wrong, and that the Brits are stuck with Johnson for another term as well as a return to a majority-rule in Parliament by the Tories.  Their smear campaign against Corbyn was a success -- they fooled the British people!

I don't know if voter-suppression against non-conservative and non-white voters is an issue in England.  It long has been in this country, where Republican-run states have gotten away with that for decades. Exceptions to that occurred when federal and district courts ruled against them in some cases.

So it will be interesting to see what happens next re : Brexit....

Nobody has fooled the British people, the British people know what they want this Brexit thing has been going on for ages now.  The British people just vote for what they want to vote for and that's that really.  Boris is quite a popular guy and there's no denying that so it's not a surprise he won or his party won so to speak.  It was no surprise to me at all that the Conservatives won the election 2019.

There is a lot of remainers around but at the end of the day it was a democracy and that's all that's important really.  The most popular party won, if Brexit is what people wanted back in 2016 then it's what they deserve.  If they don't get Brexit and get something else then it's a whole different story.

The Labour party lost lots and lots of seats, even in places you would have never even imagined.  I don't personally think that anybody was fooled here.  There's people all over youtube and places like that who know exactly what's been going on with this country and they have been voicing their opinions now for a very long time.
