covid19 update note that this is a protein molecule and this client works by folding proteins to discover how they react to chemicals, etc..

Hope this info sheds more light on this serious health issue...Good information.
"Stay Well and Be Safe"

From John's Hopkins Hospital:

This virus is not a living organism. It is a protein molecule (RNA or DNA)

covered by a protective  layer of lipid (fat), which, when absorbed by the

cells of the ocular (eyes), nasal (nose) or buccal mucosa (mouth), changes

their genetic code (mutates) and converts into aggressor and multiplier

cells.

* Since the virus is not a living organism, but is a protein molecule, it cannot

be killed.  It has to decay on its own. The disintegration time depends on the

temperature, humidity and type of material where it lies.

* The virus is very fragile; the only thing that protects it is a thin outer layer of

of fat and that is the reason why soap or detergent is the best weapon.  The

foam CUTS THE FAT (that is why you have to scrub for 20 seconds or more, to

create lots of foam).By dissolving the fat layer, the protein disperses and the

molecule breaks down.

* HEAT melts fat; this is why it is necessary to use water above 77 degrees for

hand washing, laundry and cleaning surfaces. In addition, hot water makes more

foam, making it more effective.

* Alcohol or any mixture with alcohol over 65% DISSOLVES ALL FAT, especially the

external lipid layer of the virus.

* Any solution with 1 part bleach and 5 parts water directly dissolves the protein,

breaking it down from the inside.

* Oxygenated water increases the effectiveness of soap, alcohol and chlorine, because

peroxide dissolves the virus protein. However, because you have to use it in its pure

form, it can damage your skin.

* NO BACTERICIDE OR ANTIBIOTIC WILL WORK because the virus is not a living organism like bacteria; antibodies cannot kill what is not alive.

* The virus molecules remain very stable at colder temperatures, including air conditioning in houses and cars. They also need moisture and darkness to stay stable.

Therefore, dehumidified, dry, warm and bright environments will degrade the virus

faster.

* UV LIGHT on any object that may contain the virus breaks down the protein.  Be

careful, it also breaks down collagen (which is protein) in the skin.

* The virus CANNOT go through healthy skin.

* Vinegar is NOT useful because it does not break down the protective layer of fat.

* NO SPIRITS, NOR VODKA, serve. The strongest vodka is only 40% alcohol, and you need a minimum of 65%.

*LISTERINE is 65% alcohol.

* The more confined the space, the higher the concentration of the virus there can be.

The more open or naturally ventilated, the less.

* You have to wash your hands before and after touching any commonly used surfaces

such as : mucosa (mouth area) , food, locks, knobs, switches, remotes, cell phones,

watches, computers, desks etc. and don’t forget when you use the bathroom.

* You have to MOISTURIZE YOUR HANDS due to frequent washing.  Dry hands have

cracks and the molecules can hide in the micro cracks The thicker the moisturizer, the better.

* Also keep your NAILS SHORT so that the virus does not hide there.

PLEASE SHARE WITH YOUR FRIENDS AND KEEP FOLDING FOR THE CURE TO THIS AND MANY OTHER DISEASES.  THANKS!

Great news on the Folding@home front, the newly created TPB/SB team has now surpassed the old team's score!  Thanks to faster internet speeds and better computers we have a total score of: 1,701,500 and the old team: 1,700,727.  Thanks to all involved in this worthy team effort and if you haven't already please join our team.

That's actually your personal score.

The old team has a 11,611,058 score. Current team is at 5,772,947 as I write this. So we're about halfway there. We'll pass the old team before the end of October at this rate. Sooner if we get a few more on board.

Oh you're correct (ofc) my totals combined are are less than yours and I've been doing it for years! It's still amazing considering the old team had over 100 active clients and we have covered much more ground now and with less team support. So keep bumping this thread and get more recruits. And pns.

I just found out my current 2012-era, GT500-class video boards (notebook 540M and desktop 560Ti) are good for it, just the CPUs (i5/i7 2nd gen) aren't very good. Maybe later I'll make a mini-ITX just to Fold At Home.

Brilliant.

I am certain you do not mind if I share this on social media; but when I do, would you like it linked to your team?

In old times pirate ships used to "recruit" anyone around. This is no different.

Our household keeps computers 24/7.

EDIT: I just installed the client of this sucker.

I don't know how to start it.

i'm uncertain of the linux distro you're using but i easily installed to a laptop in linux mint using snapd here's how to install snapd and then folding@home.  after installation restart and you should see the application under the education applications when you see FAHControl you can use that to configure your nick and team # 235188.  i'm a novice linux user so perhaps somone else can do a walk-thru for you.  when i used other installation directions it didn't work until i tried with the snapd instructions.  hope this helps.
