Films you've watched recently.
Watched this the other day... https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2380307/, to be honest I didn't like it at all.  The story was pretty lame, I don't mind all the other films that they've done over the last few years and there has been some good ones but this one really sucked and I'm sorry to say that I won't be watching it again in the future.  Weak storyline and bad music and just didn't like the voice actors either.  I would give it 1 out of 10 which I think is generous.  I can't believe I actually watched this movie but I guess it's a bit late now..

Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai (1999)

This movie is probably the chillest hitman movie I've ever seen. Like it's pretty violent but there are also a lot of slow, contemplative scenes of samurai philosophy and Wu-Tang beats (RZA's score is phenomenal). There is also a lot of symbolism and subtext if you're willing to take a slightly deeper dive into it. Definitely not a movie for everyone but it checks a lot of my boxes.

2010: The Year We Make Contact

I was actually expecting aliens! Disappointed that I didn't, but decent movie nevertheless.

I liked that there was a happy closure, but ghosts? Really?

Candyman (2021)

I know there are people who found this movie controversial, because of the homosexual relationship portrayed and the way the cops are portrayed as villains, but I thought the movie was great, and my daughter loved it too!

I'm not going to give any spoilers, so I don't recommend reading the wiki page, but the movie really does add to the Candyman mythos in an imaginative way.

This is a review of "Sylvio" on IMDb by "wannaB2008"
IMDb: : Sylvio

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6459382/

The following is my ["wannaB2008"] sincere opinion on the film:

I was curious and cautiously optimistic about watching a film based on that Gorilla Vine series, but I am so glad I did.

This is a simple, quiet but joyful and heartfelt film about the Journey of a creative Gorilla trying to find his place in the World.  The story is told very thoughtfully, with extremely well crafted and edited scenes   It's apparent in every shot that a lot of love and care was put into this film.

While Sylvio may not be very flashy or thrilling, it is certainly endearing and meaningful.  It showed me that a great film can be made from even a dude in a Gorilla suit as long as the ones creating it put their heart and soul into it.  This is exactly the case for Sylvio.  It's slightly outlandish and odd but loveable and  undeniably creative.

Now, this film may not be for everyone, especially if you're not patient with more Indie films, but if you're open to it, this could be perfect for you.

It certainly was a perfect film to me.  From start to finish.  I don't know why this film exists, but my life is brighter and sweeter because of it.

Thank you to everyone who made it.  10/10

I really need to stop spoiling the plot.

Sorry, I know now after reading my own posts.

It's just that after watching, I get carried away with talking about the movie that I can't contain myself from the moment.

Will try better next time.

You are mostly naming throwback pics, but among this year's crop of Hollywood films, Everything Everywhere, All At Once was quite the livingroom multimendia experience. I reccomend 5.1 Audio if you're set up for it..

"The Sea Beast" (2022-07-19)

An animated movie from the moviemaker of "Bolt," "Big Hero 6" and "Moana." Do I need to say more?
