Email from ISP
#1
I'm sure this has been asked a lot, but I can look for days and not find the answer. I received a email from my ISP saying that they have noticed (or words to that effect) I'm not obeying copy-right infringement laws. It was one show that they named and it was a P2P.(of course)

They said, they would slow down my speed or delete my account if I get caught again. Should I worry about it or not ? It didn't say the website that I downloaded the show from. I only use TPB or EZTV.

I have been told by a couple of guys not to worry about it that the ISP Co. would rather get my monthly payment. Would someone tell me what they think or If I should stop downloading or don't worry about it and keep downloading the TV Show and movies that I want.

I don't think what you're talking about is even real, you're confused, at best.
ISP don't like to lose customers, so what you're saying don't make sense.

I have the email that was sent to me saved. So its hard to be confused on my end. Maybe it is not real, but that doesn't mean I'm confused because I did receive the email.

I hope your right then I will continue to download.

Short of a court order, the worst that will happen is that they will terminate your service.  As you stated, they really don't want to do that as they prefer receiving your payments for that service.

They would also prefer not to deal with this at all so they would appreciate you not bringing any attention to them.  They use weak threats with the hopes that you will comply.

Nobody has any idea what web site you downloaded it from.  All your ISP has is a letter from the rights holder or their agent stating that an IP address your provider is responsible for shared something without permission.

If you don't want to get any more of these notices, either stop downloading, or use a seedbox or VPN to put another layer between your ISP and the trolls.

Sounds like this unnamed small ISP, assuming the story is true, doesn't know the law, in Italy you can download and seed as much as you want as long as you don't make a profit out of it (i.e reselling a pirated movie and stuff like this)

Moe, First of all. I want to thank you for not being a smart Ass. You're one of the few people on here that has answered a question for me without Flaming me. No, I don't know as much about ALL of this stuff as 90% of the people on here.

One more question. What is the best Torrent software to use besides uTorrent (it has me screwed up and I have spend hours trying to uninstall that particular software. It is now keeping me from downloading a movie or TV Show.

Thanks again
