The Doctor Who 50th anniversary, named Day of the Doctor, is a celebration of 50 years of the BBC's hit sci-fi series. Previous Doctors and companions make an appearance in the anniversary special, including David Tennant and Billie Piper.
The 50th anniversary episode will air at 7.50pm on 23 November. It is going to be broadcast as part of a worldwide simulcast in over 75 countries.
The BBC has released a synopsis for the 75-minute episode promising everything from Elizabethan murder to ancient space battles.
The official statement said: "The Doctors embark on their greatest adventure in this 50th anniversary special.
"In 2013, something terrible is awakening in London's National Gallery; in 1562, a murderous plot is afoot in Elizabethan England; and somewhere in space an ancient battle reaches its devastating conclusion.
"All of reality is at stake as the Doctor's own dangerous past comes back to haunt him."
And Doctor Who boss Steven Moffat says the episode will "change the narrative".
