Try Nord vpn. No logging, kill switch and total internet blocking if it goes down, which it never has for me anyway. Also might try boosting your comp memory.

The same thing happened to me a little while ago.

The only time that happened to me was when I was running a Proxy on my uTorrent client. And I actually downloaded a movie directly, instead of torrenting, and the proxy didn;t engage...
Those notices are scare tactics, but it can be maddening to think you protect yourself from it but it doesn;t work... VPNs protect from all. and protects all apps.

Well, apparently not 'cause mine was on and engaged when I got caught and there was no issue about it not being turned on before I was downloading 'cause mine was on 24/7 When I bought the service from Private Internet Access, I THOUGHT or was led to think that it would protect me from this but when I said something to them on Facebook, I got this reply. --------- Thank you for your reply. Please ensure you use the killswitch. Our article here covers the basics - https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/helpdesk/kb/articles/downloading-safety In addition, please be aware that according to our DMCA policy, PIA does not condone the use of our services to facilitate copyright infringement. Our DMCA Policy can be found here - https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/pages/dmca-policy ------------- Of course you don't condone it but you kind of say that you protect people from it. WTF?

The quicked why I confirm if my VPN is on is run an IP address check
https://whatismyipaddress.com/ Run it when it's off, you should get your details... Then, when you turn it on, it should show the address of that particular server location. Also, when getting a VPN, I've gone directly to the site and purchased it. I still get those notices about needing a VPN when mine is on, because some websites spam for you to buy a VPN. As long as you trust what you got and it's working, screw what the websites say.... Kinda like those antispyware apps, as long as you have one, you don't need to download anymore since those spam links on websites ARE actually spyware disguised as spyware.. I believe the same thought process applies to VPN's kinda like getting a bank notice... Don't click on the email because it can be a phishing link, but go directly to the back site that you know.

If you got the notice from your ISP, then it is clear that your torrent client wasn't using your VPN connection. That is not the fault of the VPN service.
If the notice came from your VPN service, then they honor DMCA and forward notices on the rights holder's behalf. If that is the case, it is time to find a new VPN service. |
