if the uploaders intention is to profit off it should they be the ones creating and seeding the torrent files themselves?

thats the whole point of the topic

Because, as I said, it is hypocritical to demand that only original torrent creators can profit off of piracy.

I understand what you are saying.  I just don't agree with you, and there will never be any rule dictating who can and can't profit from piracy.

thats fine Moe not looking for everyone to agree with me were human thats just not possible
im just here to have a discussion
not sure if i agree with
''Because, as I said, it is hypocritical to demand that only original torrent creators can profit off of piracy.''

it obvious some uploaders and sites use ppv or adds to funds there expenses which is understandable
i just think its wrong for random uploaders taking advantages of the real uploader bandwidth only to profit for themselves

thanks for your input all have a great weekend

We're* Their*

Also it's kind of funny how someone writes an inflammatory thread title like this one intended to provoke, then when it is explained that his idea is neither logical nor original he suddenly gets philosophical about how all humans can't agree.

This is the same guy who took his nick from a Mötley Crüe member so I guess I shouldn't be too surprised.

Can't say the first is wrong and the second is OK.

Well, you can, it just doesn't make sense.

Actually that was grammar not spelling. And your reading comprehension seems to be lacking too because no one agreed with you at any point.

Understanding what you're saying isn't agreeing with you.

Excellent. Maybe my "focal distance" helps. I'm just a common user.

IF I GOT IT RIGHT. If not, please enlighten me!

One commonly accepted idea is "no restrictions as far as you don't hurt the service". But what about outside the service, the up-/down- loaders?

Alleged "diverting profit" can cover operation but also serve horrible things, even help RIAA effort.

Luring downloaders to see extra information outside TPB (like imdb.com links) while making profit won't hurt TPB itself, it adds more to it and doesn't interfere.

But some guys crack copy protection, others rip, upload and even provide semi-permanent storage and good upload speeds in exchange for advertising.
There is the matter: When others use it to display their own ads and offer nothing - That does not help in any way. Duplicates titles, wich is actually bad.
So what is the profit for? How will the cracker/ripper/uploader keep up?

I've seen the redundant torrent thing, same content ripped and posted again, sometimes in same size/quality, and always asked why; probably competition for the fame or profit, or the torrent was dead and couldn't be re-uploaded for lack of original data. While competition may harm, it is seen as beneficial to the system.

Now the "attached" torrent is different, it not only harms the original poster and operator of the running costs/risks, if any, but it harms the system:
If "A" decides to shut down some torrent or even his entire operation, not only "A", but "B" will also lose profits and "we" all will lose that torrent data!

CONCLUSION:

That said, IMO the "content-less torrent title" or even more, the plagiarism matter, should be taken into TPB's crew consideration, if not already.

You guys are missing the point. As I stated in my previous post, anyone can upload anything to TPB. The only option would be to change the nature of the site and that's not going to happen. There are plenty of private trackers with rules and such about who can upload what. That's not TPB and it's not going to be TPB in the future. Also, once you upload a torrent to any public site anyone can do anything with it, including reuploading it elsewhere.

Another minor question is: Looks like the matter is torrenting someone else's upload or the Thread Headline (VIP status) is a little out of focus? Only VIPs do it?
I feel a little "lured" here much like the main matter, really. So morals are difficult to weight.

So it is a "out of possible control due torrent system nature" situation ?
