Do you think this torrent is safe to download without a VPN ?

The page you link to says this torrent has 28 files.  Why download them all at once?  I have downloaded from torrents this big and bigger many times without a VPN with no difficulty.  I would never download from a torrent this size in less than five chunks.

If you are really concerned about the torrent, why not download a single file?  If it fails to play and convert properly, then delete it immediately.

I know all of that.

But some files are old or have very little interest in them.  Often, those are relatively safe to download without using a VPN

I'm only worried about getting a copyright strike for not using a VPN.
My only alternative is to take a tablet and go find an open hotspot where the port isn't blocked.
But I could be sitting there for a very long time.

This is completely untrue.  I don't understand why you would say that because you can avoid all that very easily if you take the correct steps that you're supposed to take.  If you know what you're doing you can avoid being held liable but it comes down to a series of choices and if you make the wrong decision then yes you could be held liable.  At the end of the day it comes down to the person who file shares and what knowledge they have on the subject.  A bad downloader or uploader would usually make all the wrong choices and end up getting into trouble...

Does the real TorrentGalaxy end in .to?  If not then I'm sorry but I won't look at it as I would only use the real page, the truth is I don't trust proxy pages they are bad news...

Really the rule when it comes to file sharing you should always hide your traffic because otherwise your internet provider can just sit there and watch everything you do.  You should have a VPN on all the time when you Pirate regardless of what you're downloading.. The whole concept of using a VPN is keeping it all to yourself and not just broadcasting everything you get up to.  It might be okay to do that when you're doing personal things like banking and emailing but not when you're wanting to use file sharing clients it's a big no no even if it's not copyrighted.  Most things are copyrighted and even sometimes people will think it is when it isn't.  I once got a strike on youtube for a band that I videoed and performed in actually in the footage which was uploaded on youtube and had all the videos taken down in an instant because they thought that I had uploaded somebody else's work.  If google make mistakes like that and mess up in such a silly way then anybody can get it wrong.  My advice trust nobody at all and use VPN as much as possible and make sure it's a good VPN and not some cheap crap..

My only concern is that I don't have enough bandwidth to download the torrent.  

I'll get about 20% of the torrent and I'll have no bandwidth left.
So I'll have to wait a month and then try again.   Then I'll get another 20% and have zero bandwith.

Using my VPN it will take me 5 months to download the torrent.

The only other choice is I go to a hotspot that I know and sit there for 10+ hours

I totally get what you're saying and you are limited as to what you can use as far as bandwidth.  The problem is that you've joined with this VPN but it is in no way geared up to work as some kind of Peer 2 Peer networking VPN.  Really if you want to network and do Peer 2 Peer uploading or downloading then you really must get a VPN that is designed for that kind of usage.

I'm not sure if you know this but certain VPN services that you can sign up for actually have certain servers you can use which are designed exactly for Peer 2 Peer usage.  There's a lot of people out there who want to just surf the web and do it without being watched maybe this applies to things like Porn maybe people who want to surf Porn and not be blocked for example by their country and provider.

I would say that 100% definitely your VPN is for surfing only, if you want to download large torrents then I would suggest signing up for a better VPN for that kind of purpose.  The problem is that these cost more and if money is a problem then I'm not sure what to suggest?  Can you not just buy the DVD instead?  I know there's no HD either as it has never been released on a disc and that one you're looking at exists on some kind of streaming platform which you have to subscribe to.  I can understand how the DVD would be poor quality (which it is compared to HD 1080p or 1080i).

I'm sorry I can't help but I guess the only solution is wait until you have enough money to buy yourself a VPN that provides you with unlimited bandwidth and one that is designed for large downloads on specific dedicated servers.
