Yes I still buy CDs, but the ratio of CDs to downloads is pretty low.
I have some esoteric tastes in music and not all the stuff I want is available on TPB.
A while back I took a punt on an Amazon recommendation and was amply rewarded for not too many $, think it was around $30 for a double CD, and the music was truly worth it.

Paid €12 for these in local charity shops
Money goes to good causes and not the record industry.

What's a "local charity shop?" The same as "secondhand shops?"

Whatever it is, it's good that you are thinking about the big picture and legally, as well as effectively, paid for a good cause.

Great idea.

A charity shop kinda works like a second-hand shop, but they give most or sometimes all of the profit to charities.

I personally only buy a few albums per year, mostly rares or to support unsigned artists.

Well, you still have to run your store (e.g. utilities and rent), so you can't just give all of your money to charities.

Hello everyone. Some years ago CDs were pretty expensive, nowadays you can find a lot of stuff really cheap (Amazon). You can't develop a cultural taste if you don't know anything about music. Some years ago there was no internet, and fm radio was the source of all kind of music genres. I discovered classical music through classical radio. Technology evolves and now internet takes that place. Making culture available makes people educated, and that people spend money on CDs, so file sharing improves CDs sales I think. I have hundreds of CDs and I download a lot too.
