Do uploaders earn money someway or the other?
#1
So I was wondering,

No one in this world works for free unless your life is well settled and want to do some social service.

That being said, are the uploaders on TPB well settled and uploading just as a social service or are they earning one way or the other?

Maybe advertising their website and earning through ad networks on it?

Just curious that's all.

That being said, A BIG THANKS TO ALL THE UPLOADERS out there!
You have no idea how much easy you have made life for us!

I've been file sharing in one form or another for 25 years & never made a penny, nor do I want to.
Before that we shared Bootleg CDs & such through trades and such, trying to make a profit
was always considered very bad form. Today (it seems) many folks try to earn money by such
things as screen-shot links that lead the unwary to ad-ridden (sometimes malicious) image sites.
Such sites are NOT needed as there are free image servers available. I have always agreed that
trying to turn a profit by file sharing is one way of attracting all the wrong kind of attention from
people like copyright trolls.

I DO believe those who operate torrent sites like TPB are right to run ads to offset the cost of
maintaining the site.

The above is my opinion, and does not reflect the opinion of this station or it's sponsors! Tongue

Heh. My wife's been laid off, I'm 66 and retired, we don't have much, and I just want to share all the rare music I've collected over the years--because information should never, ever be restricted to those who can afford it. Guess you followers of St. Any Rand must regard people like me as suckers. Big Grin

Anyone who considers sharing work and expects compensation should find another hobby.

People share because they want to, not because they are trying to make a profit.

There are those who do attempt to profit at TPB, and those uploaders usually have a short lifetime.

That is great to hear from you guys!
Sharing is caring. Smile

I am young and don't have much to share. But atleast I seed my torrents, it's something... I guess.

That's everything. If people don't seed the torrents they enjoy, no one else will be able to enjoy them either. It also encourages uploaders to keep sharing.

Some porn uploaders may do some profit, but rest of us are do it for our pleasure.

I upload for fun. I don't make a penny. I also don't have a lot of money. So think of this as a social service that makes life a little more enjoyable and free. TPB is awesome Big Grin

Some uploaders started as downloaders and they download for free.

So when they opt to become uploaders there's no reason for them to make money.
