Here's a place for new people to stop by, say hi, and get the lay of the land.
This community is for users of 3d software like Daz 3d & Poser. Users of similar software like Carerra, Lightwave, Bryce, Blender, etc are welcome, too, but tend to be in fewer numbers than Daz and Poser. There's some crossover with game engines like Unity, unReal, and Gary's Mod, but those are really outside the scope of this group, so if that's your interest, you might want to check elsewhere in the forum (you're still welcome to hang out, though).
Anyone can make threads here, but it'd be best to keep things in one of the existing threads if possible.
If you're new, go ahead and introduce yourself...I'll start.
------
I'm the Beagle Bandit. If you've been gathering 3D stuff from the internet for any amount of time, you've likely gotten a file or two that found it's way from my hard drives . I've been in the sharing community for this stuff for a very long time...but only actually started using any of the stuff in the past couple. I've been active here, at Demonoid, at KAT at Foxter, Zone, Top, Sky... if there was a 3d sharing group, the beagle has likely sniffed around it. I'm a mac user and use Daz only.

I have landed, is there anyway to restrict access? Just wondering, to keep things a bit private.
Although I never knew TPB had a forum and never visited it through a search query, but just to keep google spiders away.

As a policy, we do not restrict access. But why would you want to?

I have been hanging around the Daz - Poserverse for quite a while.
My first was Poser 4 Pro.
When DS first appeared I dabbled with it, but it didn't grab me.
I stuck with various iterations of Poser............. until Iray arrived.
Being an ultra-realism freak, it blew me away.
I found DS 4.8 quite powerful, fairly intuitive & relatively straightforward to get the basics of.
For the first time ever, I no longer had Poser installed.
Never regretted the move & I really like 4.9.
Until I got into DS I was primarily a collector.
I still am really, but now I do quite a bit of rendering too.
I have an extensive library from Victoria 4 upward, biased towards my ultra-realism kink.
My first motivation for torrenting was to keep No Longer Available items available.
That said, I have been seduced by the availability of current items too. :00
If I am able to help someone out with a share, I most certainly will do, but
with the demise of KAT, where I had built up a basic working knowledge of torrenting on that site,
I do not as yet feel confident enough to attempt to torrent elsewhere.
If I see a 'Janet & John' guide to it I might feel more encouraged.

Hey all great to see we have a place to share...Thanks!
I as well started way back with Poser 5 and stuck with it till Daz got the Iray render-er and was surprised with it.
I rendered in Cinema 4d for it to look real and still do but Daz is so cool and fun to play in.
Just been playing in Poser Pro 11 and its seems to work good too but Daz and C4d is where i shall stick.

Ah... That's not really the same thing as restricting access, but I get what you are saying. We've never suffered any ill effects of being indexed.
Quite the contrary, I think being able to find things using search engines is a good thing.
