Do banks that support cryptocurrency work like normal banks?
Can I exchange real money from my country to use for cryptocurrency banks like Bitcoin?

But how would I put my money to use for something like Monero?
Granted, digital things are usually "better" and more "advanced," but it's still impractical.
I have some money that I want to use, money that I've saved over the years legally, and it's a pity that it's not going to be used.
There are places that I might need cryptocurrency for.

This is a question good for a master degree dissertation. In a nutshell yes - the bank which holds the cryptocurrency in custody owes cryptocurrency to depositors.
At technical level, rabbit whole goes deeper. Native cryptocurrency credit/debit doesn't work the same way as in banking. They don't use SWIFT/SEPA to credit/debit bank accounts because there are no bank accounts. A public ledger holds transaction information & a custom protocol is used for credit/debit/printing the currency.

Bitcoin is not a bank. It's a cryptocurrency. Different entities.

You can buy cryptocurrency at reputable exchanges like Coinbase, Binance.

Cryptocurrencies are unregulated and have volatile exchange rates. If you need a place to park your money, better do it in a bank deposit or bonds.

So that's why there are programs called "wallets" to download. That makes sense! As long as I can keep what I earn, that's fine.
Then again, how do I "earn" cryptocurrency? What are common jobs that help me earn it like real word examples?

I don't like working for anyone unless they pay me in crypto. You can even get a protable wallet for your currency.
As for earning crypto... You can try affiliate marketing because lots of companies payout in crypto.
But be warned that crypto is like the stock market and it can lose value. Only, over time it tends to go up
