If I use a strangers Credit Card for an online shop (lets say i buy something in Steam for example), is it possible for this person or company to track me down and if yes how do i avoid it? Asking for a friend lmao

Yes they can, but they won't waste the resources for a small charge.

You can avoid it by not being a dick.

Carding is perhaps one of the most dangerous of all online activities, as how do you know thata the people selling you the cards are not feds?

Entrapment is big business.

I work for a credit card bank and yes it is very easy to get all of your info if you've used someone else's credit card.

You don't wanna use Credit cards these days they are bad news, you're better off using Crypto Currency.  If you use Credit cards people will steal your info and pass it on and sell to other people who will try and fraud you.  There's crooks everywhere and they are just waiting for you to hand over your details.  Don't trust anybody with a credit card number unless you know the company well like a big company that everybody knows about.

As I may have mentioned elsewhere, these days online I only buy from Amazon and Ebay.

Reason is simple.

No entry of CC details, and both will cancel fraudulent charges. I know from experience on this.

My CC# is not on my machine. And without an email cleint on my Win machine, my name is not either.

Never user your own card for illegal activity. Better use crypto instead. Today, 95% of shops accept crypto
