Converting and uploading audio CDs
#1
I'd like to upload some CDs musical collages.

What is the best and easiest approach? I'd like people to be able to a) burn a CD they can play, and b) easily move the tracks to their iPhone or whatever without burning a CD.

I've tried to burn ISO disks, but the software won't take a compilation and make an ISO.

Thanks.

You can just rip the CD using cdrtfe (http://cdrtfe.sourceforge.net) and use the DAE option. From the looks, I think DAE stands for Digital Audio Extraction.

There are a few output formats you can use for that thing: MP3, Ogg, FLAC, and I believe WAV.

And that's not it, you can also burn data CDs/DVDs/Blu Rays, burn (S)VCDs, and basically fuck about with the settings. I'll leave that up to you to do so.

Of course, you don't need to use that piece of software; it's just that it suits my needs. If you downloaded an audio CD ripper, you're good as gold, and it's called a ripper.

Does that sound interesting? I hope it does. Smile

i suggest just ripping the cd in flac that way the torrent will appeal to the widest audience. most people know how to encode a cd from flac files and those who don't, just ask.

also, you might also want to consider uploading in mp3 as well. a lot of people love mp3 files and will often download a flac file and then immediately convert the torrent to mp3 without seeding back the original flac files.
