Been a member on PB for many many years and this is the first time experiencing this problem.
I click on a torrent (or a magnet link) and Utorrent (latest version) automatically launches, loads metadata, then, when it would usually start downloading, it instead, says checking data (as if i was trying to reload a torrent that had partially or fully downloaded previously).
anyways... it does this for any new torrent, any category. This has been happening for 3 days now, so i end up going to other sites and searching for the file, find it, start the torrent and all is good - go figure.

I am 99.999% certain this is not a site issue, but I'll leave it here for the moment as you are the second person to report this issue today.
For any given hash, torrent metadata is identical, regardless of whether you use a magnet link or torrent file, or which site you click the magnet link on or download the torrent file from.
A different question is, what else has changed on your computer in the past 3 days that might interfere with torrent downloading?

i have changed nothing...nada, zilch.
and the fact that i can download similar torrent file from another site, well, just makes me wonder...
I look at the trackers listed in properties and they are exact same trackers (or UDP) that list in my PB torrents that i still am seeding...
what now, brown cow?

Consider that the problem happens after your client loads the metadata. At this point where the torrent metadata came from is largely irrelevant.
If the problem were a malformed torrent served by TPB, then your client would refuse to load it. Magnet links are handled entirely within your personal computer without TPB or any other web site being involved. You can take this further by copying, rather than clicking the magnet, and removing all but the hash.
For example: magnet:?xt=urn:btih:d183b41af9b6e8612ae61f1177b1f9ab1d16e7c9
This is copied from TPB but would be identical on any index that listed that torrent.
Load a new torrent from TPB and let it do its thing. What happens if you stop and restart the torrent? Or stop and restart your client?

KJF...first off...thanks for all your attention to this problem.
So i run that magnet link and get the same issue: loads metadata, then immediately goes into "checking" mode....
I grab new torrents, same issue.
I stop, then restart these torrents, issue stays the same.
FINALLY... i restart my utorrent client, leaving the problem torrents in "check" mode... and when utorrent restarts...
VOILA... they go into full download mode!
now what is going on... ??? seems like a utorrent issue, yes? suggest i post this over at utorrent help forums?
thanks again for some resolution on the matter
HOWEVER...the problem remains... why only on TPB and not other major trackers?

The same problem was (apparently) solved in the other thread by reverting to an older version of uTorrent.
https://pirates-forum.org/showthread.php...35#pid2335
I would definitely see if anyone has reported this as a problem for the current version, and report it there if not. Using a bit of google on the whole checking thing, it appears uTorrent has been plagued with that issue before.
As to why it would happen only with TPB torrents, I have no explanation. In theory, where the download originated from should be irrelevant as this appears to be a uTorrent bug.
If you are like me and do a majority of your downloading from TPB, then statistically the majority of problems would appear to be with TPB torrents.

You need to flush your system - temp files, and all that stuff, then run disk check and defrag. I am just guessing you're storing torrents on an external drive. Sometimes they get jammed up. If this isn't the case then rid your cache of everything. Then start over. Also when you close your torrent clent you have to close it rather than just shutting down your system.
