#1
Can someone please help me? I cant seem to download torrents with Tor browser, or using Cyberghost VPN. I don't know what settings I need to change. I have avast firewall but I don't think that's the issue. When I click on download nothing happens. Any help greatly appreciated.

1. Right click on the Magnet icon and select Copy link location
2. Open uTorrent.
3. Click File / Add Torrent From URL....
3. Click Paste, click OK then click OK.

Torrent will load and download.

Basically, your browser doesn't know what to do with magnet links.

How you go about associating magnet links with your preferred torrent client depends on the browser and OS.

Thanks LowOrbit, that did the trick.

Hi Moe, I'm using uTorrent and Windows 10.
Now what about my VPN Cyber-ghost. When I run the setup test it will not connect.

You need to provide more info on that one. But don't hang your ass in the wind doing so Wink

Neither your VPN nor your firewall has anything to do with what happens when you click on magnet links in your browser.

When I'm using the VPN and go to setup in uTorrent and run a setup test, I get Speed test failed. I've included a screenshot attachment if that helps.

You should be able to download the torrent file, I think.

Are you using a free account or premium (purchased) account from Cyberghost ?
You will need to purchase a plan for torrent downloads. Hence the utorrent test failure.

If using a premium account, ensure you are using a server which allows P2P (check the 'Simulated IP address' setting).
If that too doesn't work, you could probably contact their support (through their website).

Your absolutely correct, I have the free version, oh well. So back to Tor, when I start the download through Tor, I usually close the browser. Then everything is handled through uTorrent. Can I be tracked then, since it's not going through Tor or a VPN?

Yes. Get a VPN account if you do not wish torrent downloads to be tracked.

You can download the .torrent file using Tor. Tor is a web browser. It is not meant for downloading entire torrents. It ensures your anonymity when browsing.

You can search the Net for 'What is Tor' or similar. You will find many good articles.
