Can't comment on torrent
#11
I'm displayed as logged out on this torrent page: https://thepiratebay.org/torrent/1214927...Suffering_[PC]_[ENG]_[FULL]
I randomly picked 10 other torrents and the comment element "||thepiratebay.org/static/img/icons/comments.gif" appeared on every one. I have cleared cache and cookies.

- you are not logged in
- you have javascript turned off, or an add-on is blocking it from loading
- you are using a proxy
- your IP address is banned
- you are using one or more words that are blacklisted

It is irrelevant what torrent you are trying to post on as TPB doesn't isolate torrents for commenting reasons.

Well, I was having the same problem, while using Safari Technology Preview as my browser under macOS 11 beta4... Switched over to Firefox (latest, which is really crippled under the 11 beta OS), and my login persisted through to torrent link>comment fields. Interesting because both Safari TP and Firefox using same VPN, same AdBlock+ rules, same cookies policies... (with TPB and PB-Forum both whitelisted...). Nevertheless it worked w/Firefox. Not a longterm solution for me (I'm done with FF) but at least the situation wasn't without solution. Thanks.

Ah hah! [Solved!] I disabled "Prevent cross-site tracking" in Safari Technology Preview, and TPB works like a charm!

I too faced such problem many times, where I was certainly logged into my TPB account, on the official website only i.e., thepiratebay.org, and yet often when I'd open a torrent page, I'd be seen logged out and won't get the comment link.

In such case, if I click on the login link at the bottom of the page, I'd be simply redirected to my settings page, proving that I am already logged in.

One simple hack to overcome this problem (without clearing any cache or anything) that I found was as follows:

Let's take this torrent for example > https://thepiratebay.org/torrent/1828376...XTRA_-_FBP

Suppose the above torrent page is giving you this problem, then simply remove the last part of the link from the address bar of your browser like this > https://thepiratebay.org/torrent/18283765/  and hit enter

If that doesn't work either, then remove the backslash as well like this > https://thepiratebay.org/torrent/18283765

This solves the problem quickly and you'd see the comment link again.

Hope this helps.

Exact same problem here. Tried these solutions, and yes I'm able to view torrents without being auto-logged out now(thx!), but still unable to comment on any torrent. I only recently signed up, was just trying to do something simple and helpful, now it's getting very frustrating and very time-consuming, very quickly

(edit: now it's working, not sure why. Thx again)
(edit 2: can't get comment to post, just seems to do nothing after hitting "submit")

Guess what I've posted in Error Why!?! thread also works in this thread.

Remove the characters after the torrent number in the URL.

You might want to try what worked for me.

Thank you for the response however I had read what you suggested and tried it also, it is true that the ability to comment does appear however the same thing happens after commenting, it simply does not register and disappears upon refresh!

This time you will use TOR Browser and the .onion address of TPB.

This is what I do when I want to view updates in the comments of a particular torrent.

I had the same problem with 1 specific torrent, I tried all of the above solutions, nothing worked until I posted a simple "test", which worked fine. I figured there might be a char or word limit (I tried to post a 317 word, 1630 character comment). I first tried to split it in 2, but 171 words/887 chars was, again, a no-go. Finally, after splitting it up in 4 pieces, I was able to post. Now the torrent has 5 comments: a "test" and 4x ~100w/400c.

So comments are either limited to onehundred-something words and/or ~500 chars OR you can't use line breaks in comments. Or something else entirely. Anyway, I'f you're trying to post a long story, split it up and/or remove line breaks, see if that works. Good luck.

Despite being logged into the site, when I access the following specific torrent, it shows as if I'm logged out down at the bottom, and the option to comment on it doesn't appear. I wanted to comment that it CONTAINS A TROJAN on the setup. I should have known better, considering the torrent was uploaded today and already miraculously has 5200 seeds! https://thepiratebay.org/torrent/1851219...AL___Crack

Why does the site not recognize my logged in status on that specific page?
