Can an audio track be taken from one movie and used in another?
#1
I'm way over my head trying to solve a problem with a movie.

I've got a copy of a movie (3D) that I had been looking for but someone destroyed the original english audio track.

Now I'm really sure I can find a different copy of the same movie (not 3D) with the english audio track.    Is there some way to rip the track from it and put it in the other movie?

Completely ignoring both complications which may ensue and better methods to accomplish what you want, let us say that you
have a VHSRip that is 80 minutes 02 seconds and a WEB-DL that is 80 minutes 06 seconds, ie.both have similar running times.

- download mkvtoolnix (portable version available, no need to install, just extract and use)
- in the top area of the program add both of your video files
- in the bottom area all available streams, both audio and video, will be listed
- you want a check mark on two items, the video you want and the audio you want
- now mux and a new file will be saved based on you selections
- play your newly saved file and evaluate the audio synchronization, hopefully the de-sync is linear from start to finish
- open mkvtoolnix again and add your newly muxed file, in the bottom area highlight the audio stream, on the right side enter a delay value, positive or negative, that will put the audio where you want it
- now mux and a new file will be saved with re-synchronized audio

First let me thank you for giving me a procedure to try.
2nd could I trouble you to tell me what those better methods are?   I haven't been able to find just the audio track so I'm a bit lost as to what I could try next.

He is just saying to use a video encoder with two videos to transfer the good audio track to the good video one, OR to extract (export) the audio track from one video then import it to the other video, thus generating a third audio-visual file. Many editing and encoding software can do that and also some online services can extract audio from a video file.

That's one way to do what you want and just what you asked for - But a splitter would do it too, without need to re-encode everything. Some video encoders can leave the video part untouched and just replace the audio, and even remove/insert clips, which is what a splitter can do by default.

BUT if you need to cut/paste/re-synchronize audio and video, it's a lot of work and demands know-how. Look for A/V sync apps and professional video edition.

This is going to be hard isn't it.

Ok  I've got nothing to lose by trying but it certainly would have been a lot easier if It Came From Outer Space was in 3D with an english audio track.

I never knew about those sites so thank you I'll check them out.

I'm curious why these sites don't show up in google because I thought I did a really exhaustive search.

First, "Gooble" censors a lot. It's a "Mr. Burns" kind of global megacorporation, like many others. Try DuckDuckGo, it's friendlier!
Also look around pirates forums, there're many good tips and sites to know about. And TorrentFreak is a well known pirate news site.
