Close enough. ‌ The instructions you get with TOR will get you the rest of the way. ‌ Big Grin

Thank you. I'll try it on the weekend and see how I go. Otherwise I'll be back here again.

Quote:Telstra has become the very first Australian ISP to block The Pirate Bay, a move designed to crack down on piracy in the country. However, the blocking method chosen by the ISP is the most basic option permitted under the Federal Court's order. As a result, it's been defeated in seconds.

In short: It is possible yours is a simple DNS level block.

My ISP didn't use DNS blocking, but thanks to Tor I have no fcks to give.

The only issue I see is that none of the lists work - like top 100, recent torrents etc. Searches are fine, but it just comes up with an error about database issues.

Yes. There is some problem with Top 100 and 'Recent'. We hope it will be sorted out soon.

Tip: Meanwhile, you can browse 'recent' from the second page: https://thepiratebay.org/recent/1.

Apparently, more and more government are trying to block torrents site. Thankfully, here in Indonesia we can still bypass the blocking with VPN.

VPN is a good option, just get hold of a good one but paid ones as free ones do not provide enough features. If anyone is looking for they can choose among buffered, Nord, Purevpn, Express vpn how can i forget. These are some of the best.

Tor is not the way to download from TPB. A VPN is. TOR is for 'anonymously' searching the internet. It won't help you with downloading for the most part. It can, but it takes a fair amount of work to get it to do that.

Tor CAN be used to download the .torrent files and/or the magnet links.
You don't download the files inside the .torrent meta files from TPB, you download it from peers.
VPN hide your traffic inside the tunnels while getting the files from other clients.
TPB has nothing to do with it.
