Ok so it's my bad. I cloned a new server from the old one on a new public IP so I could play with the upgrades etc. The upgrades went fine so I put that second server live and hid the original one from the net until I upgraded it. The error we get when we try to run the downlooaded .exe file is:

- A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond 77.xx.xx.xx:80

The 77.xx.xx.xx is the original server's public IP, so somewhere in the configs this IP must be hard coded in. Looked in webconfig couldn't find it mentioned. New server's IP 194.xx.xx.xx

825828

Are you sure you are using the new instance exe (194.x) and not the old instance's one (77.x) ?

Thanks for the reply, just tried it again from my PC (Win10) and it comes up with same error but now references 194.x instead, thing is, port 80 afaik is not even used. We host on 8040.

Maybe check wha'ts inside your web.config file for following entries:

- WebServerListenUri
- WebServerAddressableUri
- RelayListenUri
- RelayAddressableUri

Has everyone been successful in updating and patching the latest version then?

We cannot and as per my previous posts we are stuck on 22.8 as we cannot patch the later versions, and we have tried every possibility, the patch just breaks the services.

Same here.

Tried every possible hack, workaround and what not.

For me, everything above 23.2.9.8466 just doesn't work. Patch just breaks the services.

Even when I try clean install last step "Patch System" fails.

EDIT: I also tried to install 23.9.10.8817 with 3.4.1 patch on three PCs where SC had never been installed. All three fails with the very same error as above.

I tried/tested it on Windows Sandbox on Windows 11 Pro 23H2 and work fine with 3.4.1

P.S. I installed the RustDesk server which is FREE. I will reduce to use SC. Also, I disabled the Internal User Sources on SC. I started to uninstall the SC relay on the client's PC after deploying the RustDesk client.

I have a curious or stupid question, we dont have our screenconnect url published or indexed by the search engines, how do these hackers find out if screenconnect is being used by someone.

Thank you

Hi, have you managed to sort it or still stuck trying to patch...  we have tried again and seems it works for some, but only after hashing the install process. We still havent been able to patch, does the patch mess up the web.config, is this whats happening ?

Cheers
