Running v22.2.7294.8116 now - no issues noted thus far.

checked with Remove Licence check , it works fine no external ip call checked logs too . Have not tried ssl installation yet once i get it installed will update here soon.

hmmm.... strange I just tried it again with "Remove License Check" but I still get an attempted connection to 72.21.91.29 as soon as I do step 3.

Perhaps I can shed some light on this.  My firewall also triggers on this, however it does also give more detail.  "Remote Name: ocsp.digicert.com" / "Remote Address: 72.21.91.29".  The reason this triggers is because the Windows Installer service is trying to verify the digital certificate of the .msi installer file.  You can safely block the attempt with no harm, it will just attempt to do certificate validation using the system offline certificate store.  Regardless, it is NOT a phone-home mechanism.

my screenconnect domains are blocked by namecheap and namesillo . i use iis for hosting and cetifyweb for ssl . can any one suggest me any good company who will not block the domains

Please do not change the domain name, the clients use that to talk to your screenconnect instance.
If you start hosting it elsewhere they simply do not know where to talk to anymore.
Also do not change the relay ports, that will cause the clients to be unable to connect too.

Any reason they are giving for the domains getting suspended?
Also try hosting them on a subdomain
You can always use let's encrypt for ssl certs

They are saying i am using botnet or something like that . today i have taken from networksolutions lets see if they will do the same . i will start using directly through ip

hello, can anyone guide me to install it on windows server, without using IIS. Currently i am using it on linux server, using nginx as proxy with ssl . Seems they have stooped updating it for linux. Planning to move to windows server using nginx proxy . If anybody has any specific instruction for it, please let me know .

I am also getting error with ScreenConnect_22.3.7302.8116_Release. An error occurred while user file . The remote server returned an error. (500) internal server error. using current patch 3.0.0.

Follow the following steps:
1: patch the installer
2: prepare system, 2a delete previous services
3: install screenconnect
4: patch system
5: copy over the necessary data files, make backups and perform trial and error (can't tell you exactly which from the top of my head).

Tell us where things go wrong, you shouldn't need IIS unless you want https for the website, which you can always fix lateron.

i have already tried everything mentioned , step by steps. Removed previous version from windows and tried everything multiple times. Same error. Only screen connect client was running at time of installation. Going to uninstall sc client as well and then will give it a try. whenever i tired to access SC, it asked for administrator password, which was not provided by patcher during patch. i also looked for user file in installation directory, but it wasn't there, was hoping to change the password directly from user xml file for administrator(obviously was going to copy password from my one of previous installation in base64binary format from other user file ).

It seems V 3.0.0 is not able to patch the installer. I tried to access SC on browser and it asked for license key, after providing the license key, patched the system again and this time got no error of user file creation.
looks like, new patch is not able to create system user file for ScreenConnect_22.3.7302.8116_Release, as well as not able to remove license key check from installer. After installing SC , patch is working perfectly fine .

Notices, please read carefully
- Patch the installer before installing to prevent leaking your information!
- Linux can be patched, just copy the files over to a windows machine and select the directory!
- "External Accessibility Check", "Version Check"  and "Browser URL Check" will now always fail!
- Installing/updating extensions could theoretically be spotted by Connectwise as they are downloaded directly from their servers!
- License no longer displays (not required for patch to function)

- Hosts file editing no longer required as the uri's are patched out of the appropriate files
