I just heard the Mayday classic "Do You Ever Shine" just a few days ago, and I've started growing a love for Japanese Pop Music, even though I don't speak a lick of Japanese.
Are there other Mayday classics that I should be aware of?

To answer your question (thread title), I don't think anyone outside Asia does.
When I was there it sounded like chipmunks singing Purple Barney's on upbeat tempo, and looked like a japedo's wet dream.

I’m glad that there is an interest in Japanese music in the forum.
In the most recent posts of the Serenity Thread, I posted two Japanese minimal ambient albums.
In the most recent post of the smooth jazz thread, I posted a Japanese smooth jazz album.
For this thread, I found some compilations of Japanese pop from the 70s and 80s.
Enjoy!

Unfortunately, there was no song list provided with the video. The list is in the picture of the video, but it only helps you if you speak Japanese.
