8.1 versions
#1
A while ago, I got this great version of Win 8.1 that, on install, brings up a nice menu of which version you want to install (8.1 x86, 8.1 Pro x86, 8.1 x64, 8.1 Pro x64) and it does not even ask for a SN to install. It's perfect as far as I can tell, EXCEPT that it forces you to download and install all updates as the last step of the installation, and that takes forever.

So, my question is: is it possible to modify it to turn off that feature that makes the installer download and install all the updates? If so, how?

thanks

It can be done but as Win 8/8.1 is a "new" O/S. You'll need to custom build the O/S e.g. nLite for XP. rt7lite for Win 7.

You could go to MDL and ask either for a custom build or help in building your own. But remember that Win 8/8.1 releases it's 1st service pack in the coming months Wink

Maybe try to disconnect the internet? Maybe you can install and since it can't download it will just skip that step.
