Hi all again.
Don't be mad with me, cause of my questions.
Yesterday i noticed that my latest torrent would not start seeding.
My client showed 20 peers but noone connected.
Tried to download my own torrent on another pc but it didnt started.
Had to wait about 35-40 minutes after publishing on tpb before peers connected
or i could download my own torrent.
Is that the way it normally goes? Why is it that way?
Not that i cant wait a bit to start seeding, but i like to know the reason.
Thanks a lot.

Make sure you got ports open in your firewall/router, utorrent (if you use that) shows a green sign that ports are open.

Hi Stifmeister,
thx for reply but its not a config thing. The client runs perfect.
Just wonder why peers cant connect directly after uploading the torrent.
The client shows that there are unconnected peers.
After 30-40 Minutes they connect.
Maybe the torrent must be validated on tpb before peers can get the file?
Or maybe a tracker thing? I have no idea.

TPB has no control over who can connect when. All people do is download the torrent file or click the magnet link. After that, it is down to their clients and yours. No tracker or web site can interfere.

Hi kjf,
thanks for reply. I was thinking, that it is not tpb related.
just wondering why the peers dont connect after they show up in the client.
The older torrents in my client gets the connection to peers almost instantly after fireing up the client. The behaviour just shows up on fresh published torrents.
Was wondering, if i could do anything about that.
I will try again and see how things went.
Anyway, thx.

If your client has any kind of logging capabilities, you can check there to see the results of any incoming and outgoing connection attempts.
If peers aren't connecting, either they don't know about you, they aren't trying to connect to you, or they are trying and the connection is being rejected.
From your end, the peers might not actually exist or have left the swarm, you aren't trying to connect to them, or they are rejecting your connection.

Thank you again.
I will see on the next time if its still acting like that.

I don't know for you, but since I'm uploading manga torrents, I usually post on Nyaa Torrents and I know that, as soon as it's listed there on landing page, someone will start downloading it. That's why I'm refreshing/updating trackers, so the others can start uploading.
Randomizing Listening port works sometimes, too.
Restarting torrent or torrent client also works.
Hope this helps you somehow.
