[REQ] Dancing It's On
#1
For decades, moviegoers have loved to watch people dance. But there was always an unanswered question lurking: was It, in fact, On? But finally, a movie slithered out of “This film was not screened for critics” slop heap and delivered an unambiguous, if confusingly punctuated proclamation: Dancin’: It’s On!

Let’s not bury the lede here: This is a Teen Dance Movie from the guy who directed Space Mutiny. Turns out choreography was his true passion, in the same way that “freezer-space optimization” was Jeffrey Dahmer’s. But now that whole hula hoop dance sequence in Space Mutiny makes a lot more sense, right? It does not make it better, sexier, or less mortifying, but it at least makes more sense!

Now, we could just hit you with a lot of “Grind Twerkhard!” jokes here, but we should probably tell you what the movie is about. Seen a Teen Dance Movie before? Well it’s like that! But it’s the Teen Dance Movie from the dumbest timeline in the teenverse. The cast mainly consists of a bunch of people from "So You Think You Can Dance?" who resoundingly answered that question with a shrug and half-hearted “Kinda?” There’s also one of the martial arts guys who didn’t do any martial arts in Santa’s Summer House. And just in case you were concerned there wasn’t a prominent mine, let us assure you: there is a prominent mime!

Pack your bags for Panama City, queue up one of the absolute weirdest songs in the history of RiffTrax soundtracks, and join Mike, Kevin, and Bill for Dancin’: It’s On!

Written by: Mike Nelson, Conor Lastowka, and Sean Thomason

Contributing writers: Jason Miller and Zach Shatzer

Someone mentioned a while back that Kevin wasn't involved in the writing anymore, but I notice that Bill isn't listed here, either. Anyone know why? Are they just busy with other things (like life) and are basically just hired hands for the riffing?

I mean, RiffTrax did begin as a Mike project...so it's not that wild, really, but I do find the riffing to be leaner now.

The names come and go for writers. Sometimes Bill is there for a few then out. They swear all three are always involved to some degree, but the listed writers do the bulk.

Regardless of who is writing the jokes, the Master would not approve of a dancing/musical film, but a connection to Space Mutiny???  Yes please!

Yeah, it's magic when ALL THREE are involved. The riffs seem more natural to me.

I don't think Bill has written much in awhile either.  And I really only think Mike is on the list because he's "head writer" and Mr RiffTrax.
