When updating drivers for your motherboard that your processor requires, do you update using the specified firmware version or the version that is the latest?

I am updating the BIOS for the Asus Prime A320M-K so it suppports the AMD Athlon 2000GE ("Raven Ridge") processor, but I've hit a crossroads: download the one that suits my motherboard, or the latest one that is listed for the motherboard.

Here's what I mean:

The "recommended" one: https://www.asus.com/ca-en/Motherboards/...pDesk_CPU/ (Just click on the GO by the 4011 in the same row as the Athlon 200GE.)
The newest one: https://www.asus.com/ca-en/Motherboards/...Desk_BIOS/

maybe the newest one. but i just guessing it. i don't know in detail about what is the difference between the two. but usually newer ones would be better?
(once again, just guessing) Smile

I would go with the AMD200GE one, assuming it was designed for that processor.
The recent updates are stated to be for 'newer' cpu compatibility, so one will assume they are for different chips.

It would be well worth reading the docs to see what the updates are supposed to 'fix' and whether it is worth the tiny but real risks of the update process.

And check out any relevant AMD forums, since updates designed for Intel *possibly* might attempt to sabotage AMD, rather innocuously, of course.

All right, forget what I said; ASUS forgot to update its information on the website, hence the dilemma.

One of the pages said BIOS version 4602, and the other BIOS version 4801.

Sorry.
